New to Nexus, New to Modding

First off, hello!! :)

I'm not very good at introductions, so I guess I'll just write whatever comes to mind. My name is Dan and I'm a high school student, and aspiring game developer/modder. I don't have much experience in modding or such, but I'm interested in it and currently learning to mod Fallout 3 via the official GECK Tutorials. I joined Nexus as it appears to be one of the largest -if not THE largest- modding community for Fallout 3; and I'm hoping to join in on the fun here. In terms of gaming and such, I'm about 80% done the Fallout 3 campaign, I play about 3-4 hours a week or more, and I'm mainly a PC gamer (I do have an xbox 360 though, but it mostly just gathers dust). Currently I live in the frosty climes of Ontario, Canada, but -although it is very cold here- I don't live in an igloo.

So, hello to you all! And for those of you who are into modding and such, if you need a group member, beta tester, or just some general help; please feel free to let me know. I may be new to modding, but I make up for it with dedication, a thirst for knowledge, and great computer skills. :D

Anyways, thanks for having me!

:thanks:

Greetings.

Here is an article on Oblivion modding which is VERY similar to what you can mod for in FO3. How to make mods

Pick your interests and start going after it.

Right now, it is a bit easier to mod for Oblivion since many processes have been worked out and tons of tutorials are now available.

But it can be just as exciting, if not more, to enter the fray modding for a game where there is little documentation (and might possibly make dox for others).

Welcome to the addicting world of modding.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! :) Glad to see this is such a friendly community.

@Thor: I'm in Burlington, Ontario; but I was born in London, Ontario. Nice to see a fellow Canadian (and Londoner) here at Nexus

@LHammonds: Thanks for the advice! I'll be sure to take a look at that link. I think I'll stick with Fallout 3 in terms of modding, but I'm going to definitely take a look at similar games like Oblivion for tutorials.

Thanks again all, for the warm welcome!
