paladicprince
Interesting point. It will however affect the arrow keys either way as I just tested. :) So if you're planning on using the arrow keys as opposed to the actual numpad keys it's a moot point. jawa9000
I tested the script posted above and it worked perfectly. I would gladly upload it for you, but from what I understand the servers are down on TESNexus right now so you wouldn't be able to download it until sometime tomorrow anyways. I'm not a programmer, and I've only just started learning modding by responding to this thread, so I must just not be doing something right, or possibly my keys are mapped to the "wrong" thing. Does the code posted above rely on the game's keymapping, or on the actual keys on the keyboard? As for uploading the file you made, I'm not deterred by the waiting time, so I'll be looking for this mod as soon as the servers come back online. Thanks in advance! Another possible reason for my problems is other, possibly conflicting, mods. I do use Open Inventory, Advanced Magecraft, Paladin Armor of the Divines, Frostmourne, and Elite Imperial Watch Armor mods, as well as the normal HGEC. My load order put the mod I made from this thread as last, but I can change that if it would help. A thought I had that *might* be your issue: Are you loading the game through OBSE as well? Yes, I use OBMM (but not to load Oblivion) for my mod configuration, and OBSE's Oblivion loader to load Oblivion (some of the mods I use require it). I'll mess around with it a bit more tonight, but I'm looking forward to TESNexus's servers coming back online too. Thanks,jawa9000
paladicprince
Alrightey then. Woot for me actually uploading my first ever mod. :) I cleaned it up a tad and removed the OBSE dependency (though it's a moot point since you already have it and so dose pretty much anyone else). You can look it up under my username or search for Keyboard View Controls Let me know if it still doesn't work for some oddball reason will pinpoint the issue, I tested the cleaned up script one more time though and all is working well here. :)
jawa9000
Let me know if it still doesn't work for some oddball reason will pinpoint the issue, I tested the cleaned up script one more time though and all is working well here. :) I did download it and installed it and it worked exactly as you intended, so in that regard, well done! Unfortunately for me, what I really wanted to do is use this to allow me to move forward/backward with the up/down arrows, and turn left/right with the right/left arrows on the keyboard, and the mod you posted not only changes the left/right arrow keys into turning left/right, it also makes the up/down arrow keys move the camera up/down, with no option to re-map any of the keys. If it's not too much trouble, can you post a separate file on your mod post for just the left/right keys being changed? I am still too new to make my own mod by changing this myself. After a few more weeks of learning modding, maybe I'd be able to, but for now I need help. Thanks again!jawa9000
paladicprince
Absolutely. That'll be a two second fix haha. Have it up in a jiff. Edit/Update: Ok, a version causing only left and right to turn your character is currently up. As a test of my modding abilities I've decided to create another version that will allow you to custom set keys for rotating each direction. It might be up before you see this, who knows . :)
paladicprince
Well that was an interesting trip. It's done though. :) It now has options! Check it out: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=27490
