Modding Has Ruined Skyrim.

Just throwing this out there, why hasn't anyone requested his Payprus logs? if it still crashes on a new character then you should be able to find which mod or mods are causing the CTD quite easily.

Apparently, what causes a crash doesn't get into the log as the game crashes before the log has a chance to write it. But it can show other problems.

Maybe somebody could point to major culprits of freezes/crashes happening on the road from Riverwood to Standing Stones?

Apart from texture mods?

What size are your save files?

What's your vRAM?

Do you have mods that add spawn points?

Have you tweaked uGridsToLoad in Skyrim.ini?

@yzerman19: I made it really really clear that I don't have 200 mods. I don't have half that. I have 79 esps in my load order counting all the official DLCs. Reading comprehension. Try it.

My game wasn't logging. IDK why, I thought that was the default setting in the ini file. But anyways, I don't have any since april.

Also, my save games were generally around 9000Kb. I'd downloaded a vanilla completed game save to try things out on and it was 14000 Kb. But I doubt the problem has to do with bloat since it worked fine for a time and recently started crashing. And I never saved over it. But I'd load that save up and it would crash shortly thereafter. IDK why. It wasn't doing this at first.

Just use texture optimizer, freed up over 50MB on over 100 mods, and they don't look any different. I took before and after SS and seriously, there is like the tiniest amount of change ever, or it could be the shadows/light was in different places during the 2nd SS. Plus with save cleaner, it loads up like new. Never had any problems. The Skyrim HD 2K Textures makes everyone crash so don't use them.

Put this in Skyrim.ini under the Papyrus section. The logs will end up in

C:\Users\UserName\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Logs\Script

[Papyrus]

bEnableLogging=1

bEnableTrace=1

bLoadDebugInformation=1

The ones you get as free DLC from Bethesda? They don't make me crash with uGridsToLoad=7, 64 cells and ferocious ini tweaks. I can't speak for any 3rd party modded textures.

But the OP seems to have FAR too many graphics and visual mods.

You're kidding, right? All I have is CoT.esm, CoT-Winter, URWL and URWL nights, ethereal elven overhaul, ELFX, Dynavision and Imaginator. That's hardly a ton of graphics mods. If you installed all the RLO modules you'd have more than I do.
