Jako98146
When I try to make an NPC with the GECK, their skin tone is the same color for every race:http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u636/Jako98/NB%20Private%20w%20link/GECKProblem_zps0f39e85b.pngIt always stays with the default skin tone for some reason. All of the premade NPCs for NV are fine, it's just the NPCs I make. So what do I do about this?
nivea
The only way I know how to fix that is to make your mod a .esm, I sadly can not recall why that happens.
greggorypeccary
Don't make it an esm. until it is 100% complete otherwise. Once that is done you cannot work on it anymore.
ArekkusuStorm
I don't remember the 'proper way' to turn an esp to an esm (the way where it really is irreversible), but you can use FNVEdit to add the esm flag which you can take off anytime you want, that fixed the skin tone problem for me. To do this:(After you saved your esp from the GECK and downloaded FNVEdit)- Open up FNVEdit- You will get a list of plugins, right click and choose 'Select None'- Find your mod and check mark it then press ok- Press the + beside your mod name- Press 'File Header'- Right click the field to the right of 'Record Flags', edit, press Yes.- Check off the 'ESM', press ok- Close FNVEdit manually by using the X and press ok to save. Do the same thing if you want to go back to an esp by taking the ESM flag off in the second last step. Jako98146
@ ArekkusuStormIt worked, but will any problems occur when I finish the mod?
ArekkusuStorm
Depends on the kind of problems you're asking about, if you're asking if there will be any problems with changing it to an esm in the finished stage, then no, there shouldn't, but there could always be other problems along the way. Just remember to keep it as an esp if you want to edit the file otherwise you can't save. Edited July 28, 2013 by ArekkusuStorm
