andregalastri
Hello there I'm doing some tests because I want to create a new mod and I'm trying to use alpha blending. In Nifskope 2.0, I defined the NiAlphaProperty and applied the Alpha Blending in Flags. It works as expected when the weather is clear, but when it is rainning, the meshes with alpha blending appear to stay in front of the rain. Here is a screenshot to illustrate the issue: Note: I play with Steam's GOTY version. This is vanilla, with only OBSE installed... You can see that other window meshes work properly, but the modified meshes (the windows that seems darker, in the image above) keeps in front of the rain... I tried many configurations of NiAlphaProperty and tried to use it with other properties too, but I just can't make this work properly...Is this an issue with the Oblivion engine with no resolution? Because there are some grasses that seems to have the same issue. The tree leaves, however, don't have this problem. Is there a way to resolve this? Or a workaround to minimize this issue? Thanks! Pellape
It all depends how many layers of Alpha you add to an object, which is my experience but maybe we are not debating the same issues? Leaves and also all ingredients are made in a similar way or identical when it comes to the alpha as those objects are cubes or simple boxes, nothing else, with everything outside the visual edge are hidden with Alpha and lets say we put a vegetable, a Aloe Vera inside one of my Jars, it will disappear when you see it from one angle and when you see it from another, you will see it. I guess this is an Engine bug or similar and so damn annoying, that I flushed my house project 2008, as those jars where the most important part of the house, something I started to create 2006 already in Morrowind before Oblivion came out. I also have this issue with my Dvemer Coffee machine, where you see the inside tube in the bigger glass jar from one angle and not from another. I also took a deeper look into similar objects not long ago with SunlitEarth Look at objects that is working like those flasks from an alchemical flask mod, I can look up the URL to it if you want me too Look through every damn flag and so on to see if it might be something you did miss, but I really doubt you did. Do take a peek at similar objects as well, compare them with your windows in Nifskope and if you do not find it, do not spend 2-3 months hitting your head against the wall, or you end up as I did, leaving Oblivion 2008. Well there where more reasons really but the main was this bothered me a lot back then. We might think there is ways today and maybe there is? Maybe an ENB or similar that might be the solution? Who knows? This problem keeps comming back though. The number of Alpha Layers are limited or rather objects with Alpha, put on each others or in front and back of each others.
