Live crashes every time I launch it.

Hello, I've searched the boards and cant find anyone else with this particular problem... the windows live client crashes 100% of the time when I try to launch it to download Operation Anchorage. Sent the error report to Microsoft thinking it would give me some sort of advise to fix the problem but no....

I'm very irritated... would really love to be able to play Operation Anchorage and the other down-loadable content but cant because I can't get live to work.

Hi there,

Have patched your game?

you could try to unistall GFWL completly

you have to do that seperately

use that version wich is included on the game dvd (folder G4WL) and let GFWL update itself

it should load sth down...

btw: path to the liveupdate for XP:

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local settings\Application Data\Microsoft\XLive\

does it downloading?

if it doesn`t, you coult try to reinstall

a) Net Framework (dvd folder G4WL -> donetf...exe) + GFWL

b) the whole game

(do a clear reinstall -> delete game folder + my games + clear registry + reboot)

and do not use patches, wich do not fit to your game version,

if you are not shure wich patch is the needed, use the liveupdate

hope that helps

Fallout is up to date. Tried uninstalling/re-installing live. Still crashes. Live seems to work within the game itself, can sign on and everything (though the "Download" button stays greyed out). The windows live client itself is what crashes when I launch it to use the market place to download Operation Anchorage...

Yeah, I'm running xp, and it is all up to date. I've looked at the Live forums and haven't found a solution. I've uninstalled/reinstalled Microsoft.net, verified .dll files made sure my regional settings were "," and "." etc. Still haven't found a solution.

Wouldn't be surprised if there was some regional issues though that I cant figure out how to fix. I am an American with and American/English version of XP, but I live in Germany...
