Standard Weapon Mod

Game is great, but thing that I dislike most is that I forced to switch to Laser/Plasma weapons for survival,

but I really enjoy starting ones. Maybe there's a mod that allow to upgade those weapons to match

Plasma ones, or new ammo types of ammo or maybe set of New Alloy Weapons (we got only shotgun,

and its awesome).

I searched through mods in gameplay and weapon sections, found nothing close to what I want.

Any tips?

In Long War 1.9 we got around this issue by adding three new items to the game. Each item corresponds to a tech level (ballistic, laser, plasma), is equippable into a small item slot, and adds +1 damage to that tech level of weapon.

 

Effectively this works as "special ammo" that upgrades the original weapons as an option to advancing techs. This would require my damage mod (which allows for completely reworking the damage like this) as well as a fair bit of the new items code, which is less of a "mod" and more a loose collection of changes.

 

In Long War the weapons progression for rifles goes :

1) Assault Rifle, 3 damage

2) Assault Rifle + Alloy Jacketed Rounds, 4 damage

3) Laser Rifle, 5 damage

4) Laser Rifle + Enhanced Beam Optics, 6 damage

5) Plasma Rifle, 7 damage

6) Plasma Rifle + Plasma Stellerator, 8 damage

 

In Long War these "ammo types" are unlocked for building by the same foundry project that unlocks the corresponding SHIV weapon (or the original SHIV project for the Alloy Jacketed Rounds).

 

This seems like it's roughly in the direction you want, although there are a lot of different changes involved to make it happen so it's not packaged up as a single separate released mod.

You might consider Warspace, as well. As you can tell from Amineri's post, Long War still keeps the general weapon progression intact, but gives you more options along the way, while Warspace instead makes ballistics, lasers and plasma weapons all have certain advantages and disadvantages -- I think ballistics are middle of the road, lasers are high accuracy, high crit chance but low regular damage, and plasma are low accuracy but high damage.
