furzball
For some reason I've been wanting to see armor pieces floating around like they were possessed. That's when I thought it would be cool to have a race mod where the race is completely invisible. Just the skin. That way we have floating armor, robes, dresses, etc. Heck, it would be cool just to only equip a weapon and that would be all you see. Yes NPC's would still detect you as if you were a fully visible person. So I think 100% chemeleon and invisibility should be race spells available. No magic cost, cast once to activate, cast a second time to deactivate. I'm wanting to know how possible this is or if something similar exists. Closest thing I could find were ghost races but they are not completely invisible.
SirMagus
I don't see why you have to make a race to make this happen... Just go to the Oblivion CS and create a ring with 100% Chameleon and Invisibility. Tadaaaa! And there you have it. Wear it: Invisible Take it off: Visible Hope that helped
xxXEvandarXxx
Just go to the Oblivion CS and create a ring with 100% Chameleon and Invisibility. But then the armor and weapons would be invisible.I think it would be better to make a new race, edit the textures for the race so they are transparent and then add a NiAlphaProperty in the body .nif files. gdarknight
Chameleon affects detection by creatures and NPCs, and invisibility is only good while you don't activate anything. Both affect the appearance of clothing, armor, and weapons. You would have to create a new race with transparent textures and completely transparent alpha properties. Existing textures can be modified by simply making the alpha channel all black. Then an alpha property can be added to the nifs for control of the opacity. The key is the number associated with the alpha property. The property from magic nifs is good for transparency.
furzball
So it is possible. When I mentioned chemeleon and invisibility I knew it would make items invisible so that's why I said they should be spells.alright so what do I use to do this and is there a base I can download? Or would someone be willing to make an upload if I make up a racial profile/backstory?
xxXEvandarXxx
Well, you would need the CS to make the race (http://www.elderscrolls.com/downloads/updates_utilities.htm), something to edit the textures with, like GIMP (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14920), and NifSkope, to edit the .nif files (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=149157).You would also need to extract the meshes and textures from the BSAs. OBMM can do this, and is and has alot of other useful functions(http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2097).
furzball
Alright, I'll let people know the results as soon as I have it up.
furzball
results, I am mod retarded :wallbash: My only results were getting the head invisible via deleting all images in CS but that only works for very closed off armors. Also get a bald hair mod since it still puts hair even though no head. Tested with those cult guy's robes at beginning of the game for cool floating head effect. Would work on something like the new Tyreal armor. But not for guard, iron, glass armors, or anything else that shows skin under the head.
lizlip
Well I think it's Better Then my mod ideas
exanimis
From what I understand of your request, you want the player to be invisible but still have their armor and weapons visible. The weapons shouldn't be a problem but the armor might be. A lot of the armors and cloths have closed areas where the neck or arms go through. Some have the neck and arms attached to the armor. When you are playing a game and you put a chest guard on your character, you are not really changing the cloths but the upper body, arms and all. If you create an invisible race, each time you change the armor, you would change the upper body. I believe what you would end up with would be a chest plate with a neck and arms but no hands or head. I don't believe that would be the case with every armor or clothing item in the game but I believe it would be a problem with enough to make this mod extremely hard to accomplish.
