eviljim
One of the things I liked about Morrowind was the immense amount of time they put into the storyline and side stories. everything fit together in some little way or another. Even the 20 gajillion books were somewhat readable (while some of them even a decent story or moral). With all of this concentration on making the game look better and "minigames", then combined with the admitted reduction of the world, it sounds like there may not be as much depth. That was the biggest draw for these games, the depth of the stories, and without that Oblivion may just be another FPS. Admit it... how many of you would have played morrowind as long as you had if the plot was something like "save the princess and you'll be king!". LONG LIVE THE ELDER SCROLLS!!!!! *being hauled away by the bethesda/Oblivion goon squad*

Well, it's not that Morrowind's plot was THAT original. "Defeat the big evil semi-god cause you are the chosen one." :)
Jenlyn Fayre
Will Oblivion play on my Xbox or do I HAVE to get Xbox2? How much will this new system cost? Sheesh, I just bought my Xbox in July-- now I'll have to fork out more $$ for a new system? I hate that s--t!!

Slaiv
Hey, if it sucks, I'll just play MW. ;) Think about Baldur's Gate: It went from the awesome, quite possibly best-game ever Baldur's Gate II to a hackfest "Adventure" minus a plot, which in no way deserves to even be related to Baldur's Gate, let alone be entitled after it. eviljim
I actually still play BG:2 sometimes ^_^ . I saw the hack and slash one that likely "has more mainstream appeal" and it didn't 'appeal' to me. heh... that's a good point though. if Oblivion blows chunks I'll just play morrowind...or maybe... ...........if it sucks someone could make a 'morrowind' plugin for oblivion

Breton Thief Oriana
Will Oblivion play on my Xbox or do I HAVE to get Xbox2? How much will this new system cost? Sheesh, I just bought my Xbox in July-- now I'll have to fork out more $$ for a new system? I hate that s--t!! Microsoft would definitly make your Xbox2 backwards compatible. They might be evil, but no one is so evil they wouldnt do THAT. Even Sony did that, and their crap is breaking. Shoulda got your Xbox two years ago, bub... Now for you other guys, you naysayers: If this is as detailed as they say, it sounds greater than its predacessor. Get over your psuedo-hardcore selves and appreciate what theyve done. If you read every word of the article, it sounds like its this huge, expansive, indepth game while still maintaining an element of action and stunning visuals. Which is GOOD, btw. And you know youd buy it anyway  .
