  1. Mercbird's got me remembering - Die Toten Hosen are one of my absolute favorites and NIN is incredible (I say is because the only permanent member of the band is Trent.) Aphex Twin, Kruder and Dorfmeister, and DJ Kristoff are quality electronica - check 'em out.
  2. The naked Vikings running around after the supposed "Witch." Pretty wierd stuff. o_O
  3. Been listening to Waking the Fallen by Avenged Sevenfold quite a bit lately. Not too big a fan of their new stuff. New acquisitions? Most of the new Depeche Mode CD (iTunes), The Politics of Dancing 2 by Paul Van Dyk, Mutter by Rammstein, The Bravery, and Van Halen's The Best of Both Worlds. She Wants Revenge is pretty nice too.
  4. Good luck. Have fun, and don't get too trashed. Hopefully you can figure out how to open the right ports. Should be simple enough, unless the school has some serious protection [which, unfortunately, is probably the case.] Yar.
  5. This is true. The game doesn't look enticing at all. Now D&D Online....
  6. Meh. I'm not one for change, but I'll get used to it, just like I did with the past changes. I can see the code as well [i'm using IE 6.x.] It seems to be a bit minimalist [just the small Gaming Source logo.] I also like the way the backgrounds resize to fit the posts. Overall - 9/10. EDIT: I found a small problem. The top control panel doesn't mesh smoothly with the sides. It's slightly lower in the middle than on the sides: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v222/Slaiv/newfora.jpg EDIT: I found another small problem: when the backgrounds are stretched to fit an image, the dark[er] gray bars at the top of the oversized post do not stretch along with the body of it. Not problems. Just small bugs.
  7. Everyone knows that EA sucks. This only proves it further. Any plans on another release that *gasp* won't do more bad than good?
  8. Don't have it yet... Just bought an Ipod. Hope to pick it up soon though.... I'll be spending my time on the CAD/8Bit and Gaming Source servers, so if anyone sees "Slaiv", it's me....[duh.]
  9. Try to come back sober..... Dunno if that's possible. Just try not to return too inebriated...

    Diablo

I just liked the whole experience better than the second. Despite fewer sprites and lower resolution, I liked the fact that any class can learn any spell.

    Diablo

I concur. The original was better... one word: duping.

    Guild Wars

Well, I've finally picked it up. I'm currently a level 6 R/M. In a guild with about 7 of my friends, so that's a plus. So far, I'm addicted. Dunno 'bout later, though... If anyone sees a ranger named "Slaiv The Merciless" running around, it's me.

    Guild Wars

I still haven't picked it up yet - hopefully I can get ahold of it today. I plan to be a Ranger/Necromancer or Elementalist. Good stuff...

    Guild Wars

Should be getting it this week - look out for Slaiv the Merciless [unless someone took that name already... in which case they're going to die.]
  15. The US - Best Buy or Target. Haven't gotten any for a while... Looking to pick up Forza and Guild Wars.

    Guild Wars

You also forgot to mention the most unique part: no monthly fees. They plan to support servers with smei-annual expansion releases. I fully plan on getting these, as the game is more fun than I've had in a long time.
  17. And that's what makes the rating system complicated and unecessary. I think that it should exist, but in order to inform of content, and not directly dictate what ages can play certain games.
  18. Exactly. "Studies" have shown that violent games cause [slightly] more agression in the test subjects. But what about TV? Movies? These receive no heat at all, and yet they are every bit as violent as video games. They are more realistic as well - they feature real people. And while videogames give the user a play in this violence, the fact that the characters rarely look real serves to deter the increase of likeliness to commit a crime. It's all ridiculous. It's just the older generations complaining about something they have no understanding about whatsoever.
  19. "Birthday 19 May 1988." So he's 16, almost 17. Only 3 days before mine... On-topic: I guess the upside is that this will be the test subject. If violent crimes drop in IL, then it'll stand. But since there are few crimes committed which have been attributed to violent games, and few/none of these are true, I doubt crime will drop. In which case all these stuck-up government officials and b*tchy parents will finally be forced to pull their heads out of their a**es and realize that videogames have nothing to do with it. On a related note, this shirt had me balled-up laughing: ZeStuff: T-Shirt
  20. I assume you mean to buy. If there's ever a law stating that persons under 18 can't even play M rated games, heads will roll... *Starts to plot the carpet-bombing of the ESRB*
  21. From IGN: "Of course, software production costs are not the only factor in a game's price. Traditionally console manufacturers have sold hardware below cost, making up for the loss with software licensing fees. Industry speculation has next-generation consoles potentially priced as high as $500, doubtless reflecting the investment companies like Sony and Microsoft are making in designing a cutting-edge box. There's reason to think even a price this high is below actual cost -- thus, higher licensing fees and higher software prices."
  22. PC gaming. Built in online play, mouse/keyboard setup, multifunctional. You have games Like Baldur's Gate, neverwinter Nights, Half Life 1/2, Doom 3... First Person shooters just feel so much better on PCs. That being said, certain games are better on consoles. Quick, pick-up and play games, like sports games, some racing games, etc.... They belong on consoles.
  23. Hey, with enough work, GamingSource could become the next IGN/Gamespy..... You're well on the way. Great job!
  24. The exact same game as Star wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. Go play that instead. It's better.
  25. Technically, they're all Meridian 59 Rip-offs. It [i believe] was the original MMORPG. I agree with Peregrine. From what I've played, I can say it's not worth the cost to me. I spent hours a day during the beta, hoping that it woudl get better, but it never did. It's still plagued with the near-unsovlable problems that every MMO has. Kill monsters for parts - 1, the monsters don't always give you what you need [i found about 1/10th the time], and 2 - there are about a dozen players doing the same quest at any given time, so, assuming you get 1 out of every twelve monsters to yourself, in order to get 5 parts you need to kill 60 monsters. Time waster. Also, not being able to talk to opposing players with no apparent way to overcome this barrier in the foreseeable future [they claim they're doing so, but I have no proof] is a minus. This may have changed - if so, let me know. In short, an MMORPG with cartoony graphics and problems that is not worth the monthly payment.
