eviljim
Software Etc. Madison Square Mall Huntsville, AL So there actually is a place in Huntsville that has it.... I thought I had called eveywhere. And that's only a 50 mile drive for me. apparently I'm also blind as hell
NCBeachBum
Very good question... probably has to do with a contract saying something along the lines of GameInformer saying: "We have the biggest reader base in America. We'll print your story if you give us exclusive rights" or something along those lines. Well, I know that is the reason given, of course.... I'm just not at all sure it was the right decision to make. It just seems logical that, considering all the people online in the US who can't find it plus all the TES fans in other countries around the world to whom it isn't available at all, that more than 2 million people would have seen the hype had it been available in more than one magazine, or preferably, in more than one medium. And do you really believe that any gaming magazine would actually turn down an article on Oblivion if they didn't have exclusivity? I can't imagine it.... Morrowind was too damned big for them to ignore the next installment. Carpet bombing the market media would have reached a whole hell of a lot more people, IMO. Slaiv
Same here, but hey, what can you do? ;)
Burny
Ironic how Bethesda is stationed in Rockville, Maryland...and how also ironic it is that I live in Maryland. Maybe me and my secret army of flying battle toilets can threaten the team into making the game better...:P Although I am excited, I am disappointed at the same time. Slaiv
Wait, they're in Maryland? I shall join you in your quest to better TES:IV, my brother! Well, I guess we'll have to wait and see. But as for now, TES:IV looks to be very disappointing..... ;)
hyperk3
I got the mag like 2 or 3 days ago, it was the las tcopy left at barns & noble. Not only does it have a big section on oblivion but it covers mercenaries as well. Oh yeah, the first pic in the magazine of oblivion looks like it could be a picture of Mehrunes Dagon, but it is probably just some other random bad guy, who knows
Abramul
Is it just me, or does the plot sound like a Wild Hunt? I mentioned in another post that the author of On Oblivion was looking for someone who could summon Hircine...could he have some idea how to close the "marble blah blah blah"? As for the whole mainstream = sucky, and the GameInformer exclusive thing....at least they didn't have MSN do it. :bleh: I don't think it'll be nearly as bad as some seem to believe...and I certainly got tired of swinging a dagger 20 times, and hitting *once*. Perhaps now we'll get a hit that glances off, doing barely any damage? And FINALLY NPCs won't stand around! (you ever notice in ebony mines, nobody is actually working? dunmer_jediknight
I read the GI artical and had what they call a "geekgasam" lol. And at the same time I am a bit disapointed at the fact that TES:IV will be shorter and as a result have less replay value. Of cource that allso means that THANK-GOD TO THOSE AT BETHESDA DECIDED TO INCLUDE A CS!!!!!!!! So that the "true" rpggamers can take the time to add to the game as so many have done for morrowind. For example how many of you have griped about the poor work done on the bodies and then someone did better bodies and heads. And how many of you all have complained about no rideable mounts and someone did a mod were you can ride a horse. Now ofcource I would have loved if Bethesda would have done this themselves but as the artical said they want to make the game more mainstream and that means ( at least to us americans :P ) outstanding graphics and " who needs a plot" type games  . But I will get the game if just for the reason that I am one of those people who just cant leave something well enough alone
Guest
I havn't really played all of the TES games (but Morrowind) but I do think that Oblivian is going to be the best game that I have ever played; and the realism in the overall graphics, and depth of texture (bricks actually looking rough edged, and uneaven) will bring me to tears :bye:
Ancalagon
To be truthful, I'm looking forward to a more combat-involved game from TES. Let's be honest here, the combat wasn't as good as it could have been in MW. As long as they don't sacrifice story or plot for combat, then I'll be cool. But I've always wanted a tad bit more blood and gore when fighting with overlarge swords in this game. Call me a sadist, but I'm the guy who would turn dismemberment on when playing Jedi Knight 2, it's just that I don't believe a level 20 or something knight should still be in one piece when he took a full blow from a daedric claymore. Also, I'm a little disappointed that Oblivion won't be as large as MW. And the introduction of mounted rides should prove a better option than fast travel, since now we can enjoy the scenery whilst traveling from place to place. CharGen sounds awsome, for me that's a big part of any game (rpgs mainly) is that the CharGen gives the player to tailor his character to the color of their eyes and such. Hopefully it lets you pick height, weight, body type (endomorph, mesomorph, ectomorph this is assuming you can only play as a Cyrodill) hair color, eye color and hopefully even facial hair or scars and tatoos. All in all though, I'm still buying this game when it comes out. Even if it doesn't match up to MW or becomes "mainstream", that's enevitable, it's bound to become mainstream sooner or later (as in the case of Thief III). But again, I'll still but this game...
