Legion9191
Using Alpha 11 Fomod version of DarNUI Replicate:Start NMMClick to Activate DarnUISystem asks if you want it to edit FALLOUT.INI to change the default fontClick yes.Crash. It installs fine if you click no, except that it doesn't edit the fonts, so the game still uses the massive fonts in the smaller screens and it mashes it all together so its unreadable. Any help in getting it to install properly would be great. The game runs just fine, but not being able to read anything is kind of a downer. blove
It would be better if you created a bug report or posted this in Open Beta Feedback. In the beginning it did not work in NMM, then it did, and now it does not again. I am hoping that one day NMM will fully support OMOD scripting. Something I find MUCH more important than oh say...categories.

But I thought there was a slim possibility that the issue was with the mod or something I was doing as opposed to NMM, so I made a post here too. M48A5
Go to the DarNified UI F3 download page and read the installation instructions. You will find you have two choices for installation, install with FOMM or manual install. From your description, NMM is not changing the fonts in the Fallout.ini. Legion9191
solved problem by manually editing .ini (So its just a NMM bug)
itsmerandy
I know this is old thread - I have been all over the internet trying to find a solution to my Darnified UI install issue with no luck. I have installed several times trying different things but nothing seems to work. It all has to do with these damn fonts. I have installed Darnified UI F3 through Vortex and it ask if I want it to modify the fallout.ini file and I say yes, but nothing but original fonts still in fallout.ini. So I correctly install them myself but then Fallout crashes on startup like it doesn't know how to read the new font script. If I switch back fallout.ini to default fonts Fallout boots fine and Darnified boots up to but the fonts are to big and it gets clipped off the screen and the box around the fonts in the pit boy don't align right with the text. Basically something isn't telling fallout to use the new fonts in the fallout.ini so it crashes if its not the default fonts. I have even tried setting up Darnified manually with the same things happening so i know its not the mod manager.Anybody out there have any idea's??????Thanks! itsmerandy
Is there a file in the fallout.ini that tells fallout where to look for the Darnified fonts folder? I really think that is the problem, Fallout just doesn't know where the Darnified font folder is. But I have know idea what to look for. Thanks
M48A5
Did you check the Fallout.ini in the My Documents folder to ensure the new fonts were installed properly? Did you remove the default fonts that were the same as the installed DarNUI fonts? Did you shut down and restart your computer after you installed DarNUI? DarNified UI for FO3 was published years before there was a Nexus Mod Manager, Mod Organizer or Vortex. These mod managers may not install DarNUI correctly. From your question it is obvious that you have never opened the game .ini file. DarNUI fonts should not be installed in a seperate folder, they replace the vanilla game fonts. itsmerandy
Did you check the Fallout.ini in the My Documents folder to ensure the new fonts were installed properly? - Yes Did you remove the default fonts that were the same as the installed DarNUI fonts? - Yes Did you shut down and restart your computer after you installed DarNUI? - Yes DarNified UI for FO3 was published years before there was a Nexus Mod Manager, Mod Organizer or Vortex. These mod managers may not install DarNUI correctly. - Also installed manually with no better luck. From your question it is obvious that you have never opened the game .ini file. - I'm not exactly sure what you are referring to here as Game.ini file? Are you referring to my game saves folder fallout.ini where I copied the Darnified font scripts and replaced the original Fallout.ini fonts script?? DarNUI fonts should not be installed in a seperate folder, they replace the vanilla game fonts. When installing manually or through Vortex the Darnified Fonts folder was correctly installed in the Fallout 3 goty - Data\textures folder and is still there now with the same fonts that are referred to in the Fallout.ini Darnified fonts script. There is no original Font script of Fallout currently in the fallout.ini. just the Darnified font script. And the fallout3\data\textures\fonts folder is all Darnified fonts. I really appreciate any help you can give me on this as I have spent hours installing and uninstalling trying to get Darnified to work and I have been installing mods for years so its not like this is my first Rodeo. I Have installed Darnified many times successfully in the past and never ran into these problems before. Its just crazy!! Thank You!! Thank You!!There is not supposed to be a "Fonts" folder in the "Data" folder, The fonts are handled by the fallout.ini file in My Documents/My Games/fallout/fallout.ini If Vortex made a "Fonts" folder in "Data", it is incorrect and should be deleted.
