MasterGunner124
Vortex has now been around a while. It has a high learning curve for most that just want to install nods,. That said I have been using it for about 8 months now and I am still learning how to use it. Now is there a way I can set up Custom Categories and assign my Mods to whatever. Such as (Cleaning start up) Of (AFF)In NMM that was easy just point click and make the category. If there is a way could someone please post it. If not what are the chances that the creators of this mod may add that feature"G"

AugustaCalidia
There's also a "Categories" button on the mods page taskbar. See what you can do with that.
MasterGunner124
Thank you. This allows me to set up my own categories. I only wish I knew this when I moved from NMM"G"
Galschar
I have the same issue. NMM has a much better category management system. With Vortex I can create my own categories with child categories etc., but it's just not as intuitive. You can't just simply do a right click and press a button to create a new category. Also, you HAVE to double click a mod to add it to a category instead of having one simple right click option do the job. And another annoying thing is that child categories are not properly displayed. Example: if I create a category "Armors and Clothing", then add the child categories "Replacers", "Standalone" and "Textures", then add mods to these child categories, Vortex won't show that these are all child categories or another category. Instead it will visually show child categories as the same as normal categories. And that's just annoying :/Basically what I want is to be able to create and rename a category directly on the mods interface window, to move categories directly up and down freely in the mods interface when viewing mods and to like drag&drop mods into categories. Also I wish I could tell Vortex to place every new mod I download into a specific category like "New Mods" or whatever you want to name it. Then I would place this category at the very top. Galschar
what you want you can do already.Have you ever used NMM before? Have you even used Vortex before? You clearly don't understand what I want and your answer is not even telling me how you think I can do what I want.
Guest deleted34304850
i used nmm for years and migrated from that to vortex a while back.i've used both, extensively and know very well how they both work. just as you can't be bothered to click around vortex and figure out how it does what you want already, i can't be bothered to guide you on how to do it.but, rest assured, it does all you want, and more. it's on you to read the knowledge base, these forums and any other medium you can find to educate yourself on its features and how to exploit them.as i said, what you want is there already. just because it doesn't look like NMM doesn't mean the features aren't there. Galschar
just as you can't be bothered to click around vortex and figure out how it does what you want already, i can't be bothered to guide you on how to do it.I looked everywhere and the category management system is not very good. It's so limited. Also the knowledge base on category management isn't helping at all with my issues. What's annoying is you saying what I want is there but you are just too lazy to explain it and prove it to me or to at least give me a link to another forum post so I can educate myself like you say. The features might be there but they are not intuitive at all and they are not as I described them how I want them to be. For example I can't rename a mod directly. I have to click on the category button and then do another click and then click the Rename button. Also, when I have a root category named "5. Weather & Lighting" with 2 child categories named "5.1 Weather" and "5.2 Lighting", but I only place mods in the child categories, Vortex will only show the child categories. That's just annoying.
