7thsealord
Please bear with me. Not sure how doable this notion is (or how well I can communicate it), but here goes. Fo3 has a lot of mods, of which many are not necessarily compatible with each other, stylistically or otherwise. There are times when one may just feel like playing in a different world (ie. different set of mods), but that can involve a lot of switching around and fiddling. For example, if I suddenly want to play a plain vanilla game for a change, I simply use FOMM to uncheck all the extra stuff and then carry on. No worries. But if I want to switch my game between (for example) an Obscurum / WH40K mash-up and a Greenworld with all the extras, it gets messy - especially if I want to keep BOTH groupings for diferent gamesaves. The simple brute force option (as far as I can tell) is to have separate copies of the relevant 'Data' files, and physically swap these around in the FO3 folder. Wondering, is there a better way? Why not simply rename the Data folder? That way you can have 2 copies in your Fo3 directory at the same time without have to copy/paste the entire folder every time. Was also thinking that this could be the basis for some kind of utility program. Give users quick access to a list of different FO3 "worlds" to play in, rather than having to Mark One Eyeball Check which long list of mods are actually in place. Just a thought, anyways.
