janmillsgibson
Hi all. FIrst time posting here. To open, I had this working fine last year, however my hard drive failed and lost the mod. To add to that, my head has also failed now as well and I cannot for the life of me remember how I did this. My mate looks like the adoring fan (legit, minus the hair and ears), so I replaced the Adoring Fan's death sound with an mp3 of him screaming using TES CS. I didn't use any .bsa unpacking and repacking to do this originally and the mp3 in in the correct format. My goal is to just have my mate's mp3 play when the Adoring Fan dies. There are a bunch of videos/webpages on creating dialogue for custom npcs, but I cannot find a tutorial that deals with replacing the dialogue sounds of existing NPCs. I usually figure this stuff out myself but I've gone insane for hours today trying to figure this out again. Any help anyone can give is greatly appreciated. Oblivionaddicted
The following should do the job: In the Data\sound\fx (plus any additional folder of your choice) paste your .wav sound file In the Miscellaneous -> Sound section create a new editorID starting with a letter for the stability and unlikely to appear in other mods like your mod acronym + a description of the object + your nickname for example to avoid any mod conflict. Associate it with your sound file. I can't help you about the settings. Create an object script looking like this: ScriptName TheNameOfYourChoiceStartingWithALetter Begin OnDeath PlaySound YourSoundEditorID End Et voilà!
