Installation Problem With Steam Version Of Fallout 3

Hey everyone, I've been having major issues with my Steam copy of Fallout 3. I have gone through the long process of downloading it to Steam, and then I tried to play it.Then it takes me to the Start Menu. But the only option there is Install. So I press that. But then it says that Fallout 3 "doesn't appear to be installed" and tells me to find the setup.exe by exploring the DVD-ROM drive to install it. But there's nothing there, because this is the Steam version. I've looked through the program files exhaustively, but I can't find anything that remotely resembles a setup file. Help? I really want to play this game.....

This is my second thread, as the first was un-tagged and noticed by no one.

I guess regardless of tags, it may still go unnoticed.... *sigh*

Hi,

To create a shortcut to FO3 Launcher in steam,

1, right click on desktop and highlight NEW.

2, click on shortcut, and Browse.

3, scroll to, local Disk ©, click on it.

4, scroll to "Program files" and click.

5, scroll to "Steam" and click on arrow to open DIR..

6, open Steam Apps file and click on FO3.

7, scroll down till you find FO3 Launcher.

8, click on FO3 Launcher and then click on "OK"

You have made a Shortcut to FO3. and it should work fine. OK.

Happy Wanderings.

I feel for you man, I really do. This post of mine offers no help, but I just wanted to say... that after reading the problems of all the people over the years with all the problems they have had with the Steam version of Fallout s (and other games), that...

Steam unequivocally, undoubtedly, irrevocably, absolutely, undeniably, repeatedly sucks the big one. What a useless third party piece of junk that only adds a layer of failure between the consumer and the product they wish to use.

I wish you the best of luck getting 'er up and running, because the game itself is awesome.

Cheers!
