Completely new to Modding, but I have a problem

I downloaded the Nexus Mod Manager, and to try it out I figured I would get Project Nevada to start out with. However, any time I try to download something off the site now, it says that "No file exists for this ID". I tried all kinds of different mods, but all of them yielded the same result, whether I tried doing it manually or with the NMM. Is there anything I'm doing wrong here? Because that is definitely a possibility. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

you should get fallout mod manager project Nevada is a FOMOD and wont install properly with nexus mod manager

also fallout mod manager or FOMM for short has a bunch of tools such as BOSS auto sort used for sorting your load list and ensuring your game runs smoothly TESsnip for creating esp's and esm and also used for porting mods from FO3 to new vegas and vise versa and conflict detector which will tell you if one of your mods is a master to another and which should be loaded first NMM has none of these

Is FOMM necessary for it to run? I would prefer to be as simplistic as possible, but if it has to be done, so be it. I do have a question though, can I use every mod I wish on one game, or will they interfere? I imagine that multiple mods would be incompatible with each other, but I don't know about them.

FOMM is pretty simple, just read the instructions and all should be on the up and up. And a lot of bigger mods might conflict, so not all of them will be compatible. But as long as too mods don't change the same thing, there shouldn't be an issue.

Zack, let me put you up to speed:

- You can use FOMM and NMM along. I use them for different purposes (Fomm for installation, Nmm for downloads, mod count and so on.)

- I don't recommend you to install ALL mods through FOMM, since (for example AWOP [a world of pain] or EVE [enhanced visuals effects] have various .esp (mods) and only need one of them to run.

A common problem people have is with eve, installing it with FOMM and activating the 3 .esp in them

"eve - all dlc ; eve - no gra : eve - no dlc" and you only need one of them. Therefore there will be a conflict. Make an habit to only install FOMOD archives in fomm, the rest unrar and drop in data folder.

Second: A mod that says "requieres NVSE" this is New Vegas Script Extender, and you need it for a lot of mods, so download it too.

Third: BOSS automatically arranges your load order for best compatibility, FOMM has it but i'm not sure is the lastest version. You can download it at Nexus too.

Fourth: When you have installed a mod and want to start the game but it crashes, it's because you either forgot to activate a file or X reason, for that purpose there's a program (downloadable from Nexus) called "FNVEdit" that detects these conflicts and tells you what you're missing, example "fatal error: X Mod is requiered to function but wasn't found" so you know what you have to do. There's a completely noob-friendly tutorial here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVKe51dRm2M

Mod limit is 140, or "8B" in hexadecimal numbers..or something like that. After 140 your game will get messed up with all purple people, lands, sky, and lots of red exclamation marks everywhere.

and download new vegas stutter remover from nexus for the stutter problem.

That's all that comes to mind. if you have 4gb ram, download new vegas 4gb enabler so your game can use more ram and be faster. BYE
