DeltaWulf
On the mod page for Dual Sheath Redux, it specifically says this:"I'm getting a SkyProc patcher error such as "There was an error exporting the custom patch. (files\tmp.esp (The system cannot find the path specified)", the patcher keeps insisting I don't have the Dual Sheath Redux.esp installed, my exported patch file is empty, or my patch hangs forever. Help? This is likely a windows permissions problem or a Java configuration problem on your computer. Please try to fix using the Automatic Variants Troubleshooting Readme that contains many fixes to common SkyProc errors before posting for help."Well, I'm getting this specific error, "(files\tmp.esp (The system cannot find the path specified)" with pretty much no solution. I've gone in and out with Windows security to the point that I just gave the "everyone" group full access to my entire Program Files folder and it's still happening. I've uninstalled/reinstalled Java three times, completely wiped it off my HDD to be sure that I didn't have any old leftover versions that might be causing any issues with it somehow and nothing. I did a complete and total reinstall of Skyrim and all of my mods, including a fresh download of Dual Sheath Redux and it didn't change a thing.I did get the patcher to run correctly one time (about a week ago now). The first couple of times I ran it, it created the "Dual Sheath Redux Patch.esp" the way it was supposed to, however a few days later after I'd installed some new mods I started to get this error. So, that tells me it's not anything to do with my permissions or java. I looked all over the AV page and there is no mention of this error or how to fix it. I've made multiple posts on the forums both here and on the Bethesda official forums and not gotten any useful information. Can someone possibly point me to this apparent "solution" listed on the AV troubleshooting page that doesn't exist? They specifically mentioned this error, yet say nothing in the way of how to actually fix it?
SnowTime13
I'm not an expert on Dual Sheath Redux, though I do run a couple of other patchers. The problem might reside in the version of Java you are using since it seems that Java is trying to find something that doesn't exist. Are you using the proper version for the OS, e.g. Java 32 = 32-bit Windows, Java x64 = 64-bit windows? I was having a frustrating time getting ReProccer set up, and the problem was that I was running Java 32-bit instead of Java 64-bit. DeltaWulf
Yes, I'm using a fully updated version of the x64 version with a Windows 64-bit OS. Is it possible this version of Java might be too up to date? I'm not sure when the Patcher was last updated, but maybe there were changes with Java that could be effecting this. DeltaWulf
I managed to fix it by using the command prompt. It's a permissions issue that cannot be bypassed right-click run as admin, since for whatever reason windows won't allow you to do that with .jar files.Step-by-step:1. Open command prompt as administrator (right-click, run as administrator).2. Type this into the command prompt exactly: CD /d C:\*86*\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Data\SkyProc Patchers\Dual Sheath Redux Patch3. That should have changed your current command prompt directory to the .jar file's directory. Now simply type: java -jar "Dual Sheath Redux Patch.jar"4. Press enter and you should get the usual Dual Sheath Redux Patcher opening up and things will proceed as normal. If for some reason the patcher doesn't finish properly and you get the same access denied error, be sure to double check that you opened the command prompt as administrator and have permissions to do so. azzbazz1234
my problem is exactly the same as yours, same error and everything but when I try do all that in the command prompt it just says this : 'C:\Program' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. the only thing different to you, to use this method is my address, witch is : C:\Program Files (x86)\The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim\Data\SkyProc Patchers\Dual Sheath Redux Patch. phoenix0899
when i type java -jar "Dual Sheath Redux.jar" it says java isn't recognised.....any answer for that?
KPetersen
@phoenix0899 - I don't think you have the patch installed in the right location. I had the exact same problem as DeltaWulf thoroughly described, I updated my Java and reinstalled the patch and was then able to run the .jar file with admin rights through the command prompt using my own path to the file. Let me know if I can help.
MotoSxorpio
You may need to move your installation from Program Files so that UAC doesn't block.
