furzball
I've got this idea in mind for a mod that hopefully wont require much more then vanilla oblivion and scripting. I'm hoping to start the game with a quick story on how a fortune teller framed you for a murder to place you in the jail. Thus gives a reason why your character is in the jail at the beginning. As a quest you can go find this fortune teller only to find out from him/her that you have the greater destiny as the hero of cyrodiil. Anyways the fortune teller also gives you hints on what you need to do for certain quests and the like. Also points the way to a partner (for romance aspect of this mod). After you beat the main quest you go back to the fortune teller for a few more quests (shivering isles, knights of the nine, etc.) once supposed main bethesda quests are finished, the fortune teller offers one last quest, saying that it must be done (for whatever reason) but your hero will die because of it. At the end of the quest your hero is joined by the guards and the hero's partner, whilst the hero is in a sense dying. Therefore providing a great end to your hero. Not sure if anyone would be interested in this sort of thing. Let me know so we can straighten out details.
furzball
bumping this so hopefully some git doesnt try to bury it in sword requests. Yeah I know, we all hate bumping but still, it got buried pretty fast so I want to make sure it gets seen.
furzball
Still no takers?
Deleted1082189User
:wallbash: Dude, please stop bumping this. 1.)The mod would require both expansions, something most people do not have. 2.)This would complicate the main quest and would more than likely require a load of scripting and CM partners for the partner. 3.)This mod might cause conflicts with the main quest or other mods. 4.)This mod would make it so the character dies with a "heroic ending". But this is a video game, not a movie. In oblivion, if you die, all you can do is hear the "you are dead" music and reload as your character slowly topples to the ground. An "ending" so to speak would not be possible unless the hero does not actually die. 5.)The mod would break a bit of lore considering this would make your character a technical criminal. What kind of hero murdered his family or friends? Or was a thief? Overall this mod might cause more harm than good. No offense. And also, it isn't just these annoying sword requests that are burying your request. There are a lot of potentially great mods being requested, so please stop bumping your post. Edit them if you want to add something like "Still no takers?" instead of using sentences like these as an excuse to be first on the list.
LoginToDownload
2.)This would complicate the main quest and would more than likely require a load of scripting and CM partners for the partner. Is complicating the Main Quest a bad thing? What kind of self-respecting major Quest mod doesn't require a load of scripting? 3.)This mod might cause conflicts with the main quest or other mods. How so? And how can you reasonably conflict with the main quest? 4.)This mod would make it so the character dies with a "heroic ending". But this is a video game, not a movie. In oblivion, if you die, all you can do is hear the "you are dead" music and reload as your character slowly topples to the ground. An "ending" so to speak would not be possible unless the hero does not actually die.Easily circumvented. You could disable the controls and take them through an entire epilogue while the player is invisible with no trouble, then actually kill them when all is tied up. You could also just use a video. 5.)The mod would break a bit of lore considering this would make your character a technical criminal. What kind of hero murdered his family or friends? Or was a thief?I don't understand at all. The idea that your character committed a crime of some kind is already inherent in the game, and this would actually provide an out for that by chalking it up to framing. Also, not all story-intensive mods have to be lore-friendly. This premise could theoretically be great, but so could any other premise. It's a very bare-bones request/suggestion, and would take a massive amount of work. It doesn't seem like you've supplied enough interesting to make it worth doing instead of what a modder would be doing anyway.
