Inafog Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 I push Print Screen and get a message at the top, e.g. "File ScreenShot3.bmp" But when I go to the Oblivion folder, there is no screenshot file or any hint of a .bmp. What could be happening? Where are they?
mhahn123 Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 That's really odd. Even with a non-standard install (my oblivion is in c/games) all my screenies show up in the Oblivion folder. Are you using a steam version? Not sure if it makes a difference at all since I use a disk installed GOTY version. If you can't get it sorted out try using FRAPS.
Inafog Posted August 5, 2013 Author Posted August 5, 2013 No, I have the GOTY edition on CD. I'll serach for them a bit more.

What could be happening? Where are they? This points to you having Oblivion installed in the Windows' protected 'Program Files' folder structure. Games are forbidden to write to this folder, so Windows hides anything that would be in a virtual folder. Solution? Uninstall Oblivion and reinstall outside of Program Files, to somewhere like C:\Games\Oblivion.
Inafog Posted August 9, 2013 Author Posted August 9, 2013 Aargh. Having just reinstalled some mods and having gotten the game to run fairly well on my elderly computer, there is no way I am going to reinstall the whole ball of wax. I'll wait until I get a new computer. But thanks for this information, unwelcome though it be--at least I won't waste any more time looking for the screenshots.
