Nifscripts in Blender 2.68

Hi there,

I'm afraid that this is a stupid question but I'm new to modding and I have the problem that I cannot import .nifs into Blender 2.68. Sometimes while the installation of the Nifscripts there occurs an error that there were no scripts found. Sometimes the installation of the Nifscripts works, but I still don't have the option for the import of .nifs.

Perhaps someone can help me.

Thanks.

Hey sorry for the late reply, as this post might be a dead one and you have already found your answer, but you can always export from NIFskope as an .obj file format, then import into blender, or from blender, export your object as .obj, then import on NIFskope the .obj file.

For anyone who stumbles across this post, Blender 2.49 is the current recommended version for import/export as of posting. Check the wiki for latest recommended version. - http://niftools.sourceforge.net/wiki/Blender

The new "Blender Nif Plugin" is in development but not production ready.

You can use whatever version of Blender you want for production. Then get your model in Blender 2.49 either using the .blend file as is with legacy compatibility mode enabled or use a data interchange format such as .3ds or .fbx.

Don't use .obj as as recommended above as it does not support many of the features used by nif, vertex weighting for example.
