Simply wear the armour you need to improve on.

Find a nearby swamp.

Cast a few improve Constution spells/potions.

Have some healing spells ready.

Find a tiny, puny rat and let him eat the hell out of you for a few minutes.

You'll shoot up in armour levels as long as you make sure you don't die.

 

Once you have lots of HPs you can go an make a cup of tea whilst the little beggar munches away at you and kindly sends your armour skill levls soaring!
