LE Mines of Skyrim

I have been interested into why no mines exist in Skyrim. Dungeons and such have access to the resources but cities don't have their own personal mines. It would really add to the lore if each city had a mine. I was thinking of a tier like system that made it so paying the Jarl to pay people to dig the mine out even more. I guess I should just make a feature list.

 

 

Features:

- Mines inside the cities or close to the cities

- Mines are expandable

- Tiered level of mines

- Personal Mines

 

Tiers:

Tier 1 - The mine contains a small amount of iron

Tier 2 - Larger amount of iron and small amounts of rarer ores

Tier 3 - Even more Iron and a medium amount of rarer ores

 

Pricing to expand Mines:

Tier 1 - Mine starts as Tier 1

Tier 2 - 5000 gold

Tier 3 - 20000 gold

My reasoning for the huge price increase is because the player will be given access to a lot of resource that is typically harder to come by.

 

Personal Mines:

I had the idea that there could be some personal mines the player can purchase off of new NPCs that would be willing to sell. The personal mines would not be expandable. You wouldn't be able to move your family into the mine. The mines would come with a bed, enchanting table, alchemy lab, and all the basics for smithing. The mine would also have a very limited amount of ores. Enough to make the purchase worth it but not too much to take away from the lore.

 

Each mine will reset in 3-5 game days. Meaning that all the ores inside the mines will be reset. This allows for the player to have a constant souce of minerals.

 

I really hope someone can do this. I am not too good with the creation kit and I can't design a cave system at all.

I think you should look at the mods available! there are plenty of mines in skyrim. Markhearth has big silver mine. there's one just outside Riverwood, Shor Stone has a mine. There are at least 4 "personal" mines you can own some are already furnished. You can add the mod to put a "furniture store" in Solitude, so you can buy furniture and put it in your mine. There are a number of mines like the Ebon Mine that gives you Ebony (and Deadric hearts) so you can create Daedric weapons.
