Launching Skyrim through SBW vs SKSE

Hello,

I am new to both Skyrim and modding. I had 2 quick questions:

I was using the Simple Borderless Windows (SBW) mod, which is great as you can run Skyrim in full screen window mode; very helpful mod. However, after wanting to use more mods I read up on something called SKSE script and how a lot of mods use that. The problem I am running into is that in order for SBW to work, you need to launch using the SBW launcher, and in order to use mods which use SKSE, you need to use the SKSE Load Launcher. How can I combine these two? I want to experiment with more mods, but I really want to play in the SBW full screen window. Is it possible to run both SBW and SKSE?

My other question may seem silly, but the wording in Nexus Mod Manager confuses me when I am activating mods. For example I got the Skyrim HD 2K Texture mods, but they come in separate files. So for example I activated the "Town" mod, but then when I try to activate the "Riften" mod, it asks me if I want to replace the files or install the new mod as is.

Also for example with Pure Water mod or the Static Mesh Improvement mod, it asks me if I wasnt to replace files. I am not sure what exactly I am supposed to do, because some mods are all encompassing, and some mods only focus one specific thing like Water or Plants.

I hope that made sense. Thanks.

NMM is very silly about wanting to replace irrelevant files when you install new mods with slightly similar names. Generally, you ALWAYS say "No" if it asks you to replace, unless you know for a fact you are SPECIFICALLY updating a mod you already have with a newer version of the exact same mod.

SBW is designed to automatically look for and run SKSE if it's present - so you don't have to do anything other than run the game from SBW.

As for the texture / NMM question, as ArtMurder stated NMM design is slightly flawed here and it doesn't explain things entirely properly. Simply put, if a mod has multiple sections / downloads (such as HD2K) then NMM won't recongise that these different sections are actually part of one mod, so in this case you say "No" to updating the original mod and the new section will install without uninstalling the first section.

Also, as for the "all encompassing" mods vs "specific" mods installation priority, when you get an installation conflict such as the Pure Waters vs SMIM then you will normally chose to install all files from the "specific" mod - Pure Water as it purely (no pun intended) focuses and specialises on modding the water whereas SMIM does a lot more other things too. You could use NMM to arrange exactly which files are kept from one mod and which will be overwritten, but in this case you'll probably just want to overwrite all SMIM water-based files with the Pure Waters mod. If you ever want to remove Pure Water, or any other mod that overwrote another mods files, then once the newer mod is uninstalled NMM will restore the files from the older mod, so there's normally no permanent "damage" caused by installing one mod over another.
