sumoftwosins
I've had the bug for a bit, but I've been to busy with other things... There is no music on the radio anymore. I can hear both Eden and Three Dog talk, but when it goes to the part where music should be played there is only silence. I reinstalled a couple of weeks ago to revolve some other problems and the music didn't come back then.
phoneyLogic
Did you disable some codecs? Do you use Mods? And the Wastlandradios? Are they still playing music?
sumoftwosins
I've tried it with mods and without any mods. I haven't tested all the radios. The specific one that I have tried is the radio at the Washington Monument where you install the Vergo dish or whatever. If I turn that radio of and back on, I will hear music. No software has changed other than reinstalling winamp, which I did after the problem started. No other changes other than adding a new hard drive, but this was after the problem started. I also reinstalled FO3 after that hard drive was added. I'm thinking it could be a patch or something. I'll keep messing with it.
phoneyLogic
could be a codec probhave a look >here< in post 27 I tried to explain a way how you could figure it out without permanently restating your system ;) Here some codecs that might cause problems with fallout3 in general: ffdshow, arcsoft, AC3, Xvid -> If you have a stuttering, you should get rid of them(just mention it, maybe you dont want to read the whole thread)
sumoftwosins
I tried the codec thing, no go. I tried installing the mod that adds music to the GNR... "More where that came from..." and it didn't even play either. Something is screwed with the game if the Pipboy is the only thing no playing music. phoneyLogic
already tried to install klite codec? -> try basicmaybe there is sth wrong with the mp3 codecthere should be 2 frauenhofer mp3 codecs -> they are needed to play mp3 and what is with the radio speakers and the wasteland radios? sumoftwosins
I only have 1 frauenhofer codec. That might be the problem. I'm going to add those other codecs. I never realized how much the music added to the game until I had no music. For a funny thing, I decided to contact Bethesta for help. I didn't figure they could help... hell the email's are being returned from some random domain which would indicated outsourcing for tech support. Back when I was doing network engineering... I forgot how tech support was. Just tell the customer to do some random thing each time until they eventually give up. That way, those of us getting paid more didn't have to be paid to answer questions.
sumoftwosins
This just absolutely blows my mind. Nothing works. How can the radios in the wasteland play the stuff, but the pipboy can't? I even tried making a mod to alter some setting to get it to work. What is the other frauenhofer codec I should have? I've got to get this fixed. It is driving me bonkers. sumoftwosins
Well I doubt I'll find out through Bethesda's tech support. I'd have better luck asking a retarded monkey.
