Rennn
ok, my last off topic post about Demons/Dark souls. did a little bit or curious reading. it seems, for the most part in large, those who played Demons Souls first preferred Demons to Dark, basically like 90% of the posts i read, agreed with this. for those who played Dark first, it was probably 60/40 in favor of Dark. so for the most part it seems, the Dark community i hate are those who have only really ever played Dark or played Dark first. honestly, that makes me feel better lol. The Dark Souls hate ends naow!! Seriously though, your complaints are opinions. I could list just as many things I preferred in Dark Souls over Demon's Souls, but that wouldn't be a productive use of bandwidth. I think it's enough to say that I dislike most Dark Souls fans, most Demon's Souls fans, most Mass Effect fans, and most Dragon Age fans.Fans in general annoy me by being very alarmist and overly protective of their series. Rather than looking for the good in sequels, they ironically seem to look for the bad. Nobody knows for sure right now where Bioware and Fromsoft will go with their respective franchises, but both devs have a history of critically acclaimed games. I have enough trust in both to assume that Dark Souls 2 and DA:I are going to be awesome, just like every other game from both devs. Rather than looking at what we hate in Dark Souls, or Demon's Souls, or Dragon Age 2, perhaps we should be looking to future iterations of each series with hope and open hearts. Some changes will be made, probably for the better (assuming EA doesn't stab Bioware in the liver again). Edited August 18, 2013 by Rennn
hoofhearted4
The biggest change in dark souls 2 i could hope for won't be done. I would love for them to add a way for players on their second plythroughs to be able to role play better without all the grinding.. The thing that came into my head is that whenever a player creates a new character after they have beaten the game with another character, the new character unlocks a merchant that appears after the first major boss. This merchant has everything you've unlocked so far with any and all other characters. If you've discovered 10 titanite chunks between 3 characters then this merchant has 10 available. Any and all weapons you've gathered including boss weapons. Boss souls from bosses you've beaten will be available at the same price they consume for. Whether or not the other items should cost anything idk. On one hand making them cost things helps balance it a little. However that still requires you to grind for souls and grinding is what I'm trying to avoid....Either way i think an idea like this is great. The more you've played the game with other characters the more you'll unlock. This prevents you from just jumping into the game and going straight to PvP fully decked out. But it encourages you to play the game multiple times and explore. It encourages you to make new tools, be it for simple PvE role playing or PvP. Greifing would also be avoided in small part. Even if a player gets the best equipment for PvP at level 25. The person he's invading could also be decked out too. Now this wouldn't occur if the invadee was brand new or chose not to use the merchant but still. That's the last thing too that stinks. Someone invading the Undead Burg at level 25 is prepared to invade. You're never ready to be invaded by such a player at such a level and it's almost impossible to be ready, equipment wise, for it. But a merchant like this, set up this way would be amazing imo. Now well it happen? No. But who knows. I plan on getting DkS2 on ps3. If PC found a way to make such a merchant or other similar system available then i might just have to get it for PC too. hoofhearted4
I'll be excited for it if everything is destructible not just certain things. Cool i can blow up a skyscraper but not this little Shack or this wall.... I might get it for PC eventually but I'm not a big fps fan so i won't spend full price on it. I spent $60 on BF3 even though I don't normally buy shooters (Battlefield and SW: Battlefront are the exceptions). That was a mistake; I should have spent $10-20 considering it required Origin and scaled back the destruction from Bad Company 2.
hoofhearted4
i bought it for PS3. literally never played it. only spent like $20 on it though. but returned it and eventually got it for PC for $5 during E3 with a Free DLC. still havent played it though. i havent played it since the Beta weeks right before it launched. i was sad at how much destruction there wasnt compared to BFBC2
OpheliaNeoma
Personally, I loved BF3. Bought it on the 360 the January after it released, and as soon as Premium came out I got that. Then I bought the $60 premium edition for the PC in March, although I'm just now starting to get into that version.

Then I bought the $60 premium edition for the PC in March, although I'm just now starting to get into that version. BF3 is still probably my second favorite shooter, but for me that's a very low bar.ARPG and Action Adventure are by far my favorite genres. Dark Souls, Drakan, Untold Legends, etc. It's a great FPS, but after playing BC2 and Blacklight (free), there was really nothing it could offer me (personally) that was a large enough improvement over one of the already mentioned games to justify the $60 I paid for it.If BF4 ramps up the destruction to BC2 levels, or beyond, I'm sure I'll buy it eventually. Not for full price though. I don't think I'll spend $60 on a shooter for a long time, given how stagnant the genre is and how much I prefer other genres. hoofhearted4
im personally not a PvP FPS fan. give me Borderlands or FarCry 3 absolutely. but as far as CoD, BF3, and many others, yea ive played them (actually spend a lot of time on BFBC2) but i dont see myself really playing them much at all.
