GoGoGordy
Mods aren't the problem. I tried playing with and without mods, but neither of them work right. I always start a new save file because the I never played SSE until the Anniversary Edition came out. Steam doesn't help, and I already put the game on lowered settings. I even edited the prefs to set things as low as possible.

hippitywho
Have you seen this thread? https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2664164755 The video under the section titled "Previous attempt at modding" gives good advice on a clean install which may help. GoGoGordy
Thanks, I'm trying it now. But for some reason, I don't have the option to choose the location for installation?

hippitywho
I believe you set that before download/ install in steam. Go to the steam dropdown in the upper left corner and choose settings->downloads->Steam library folders. You can add a new location with the + button and set the new location as the default using the three dot button on the right.
GoGoGordy
hippitywho, you're saving my bacon here. I'm still pretty lost, but I definitely feel like I'm almost there. Thank you so much. When I click the three dots, I only get Browse Folder & Repair Folder. Clicking the + button brings me to Program Files and I only have a C folder
