adb3nj
I'm trying to recreate the green fences from Diamond City as modular/constructible objects. They look fine in NifSkope and in CreationKit, but nearly always fail to load properly in-game, either when they're added in CK or using workshop mode. I've tried experimenting with various record flags (non occluder, etc), but nothing makes any difference. Screenshots attached, if anyone has any idea what could be causing the issue. Thanks! bud9961
make sure you have them in data folder meshes, material and textures folders and when you make in creation kit alot of times you have to save and close creation kit and reopen or some people say refresh works but i usually have to close and reopen first time i add, if it just doesnt look how you wanted try messing with the material file , usually specular multiplier and smoothness numbers but also fresnel power. alot of it is prob lighting when you view out of game you are prob seeing at full brightness, you can also try messing with emittance on item there is opposite one that helps eliminate time of day effects. you can change the material settings i mentioned drastically then go in game see what it did, i usually try to keep them in the range of .50 -5.0 depending on circumstances. the lower pics looks like your precombine vis files using old ones, after you places did you precombine textures and generate visiability and precombine visability? Minuos
Is this happening with any of the railings in the base game or just yours? Have you tried running the game with higher texture settings?
pepperman35
Take a look the PreWarFenceChainLink01.nif and compare with yours. Can't tell for the images you included if you have a NiAlphaProperty for the it or not.
adb3nj
Is this happening with any of the railings in the base game or just yours? Have you tried running the game with higher texture settings? It wasn't happening with any of the base railings; it now, suddenly, is, which I guess suggests it's a performance issue rather than anything to do with my mesh? And the game engine was prioritising textures on base assets. make sure you have them in data folder meshes, material and textures folders and when you make in creation kit alot of times you have to save and close creation kit and reopen or some people say refresh works but i usually have to close and reopen first time i add, if it just doesnt look how you wanted try messing with the material file , usually specular multiplier and smoothness numbers but also fresnel power. alot of it is prob lighting when you view out of game you are prob seeing at full brightness, you can also try messing with emittance on item there is opposite one that helps eliminate time of day effects. you can change the material settings i mentioned drastically then go in game see what it did, i usually try to keep them in the range of .50 -5.0 depending on circumstances. the lower pics looks like your precombine vis files using old ones, after you places did you precombine textures and generate visiability and precombine visability? I've generated new precombines and visibility, although that particular instance was added through workshop mode.
