moistnuggests
I searched through the merchant section of the mods only to be surprised that there doesn't seem to be a mod that lets you make "orders" from merchants. A ton of mods that increase their random inventories or gold or add a bunch of new merchants...but no mods that let you make orders. So yea, really need a mod that lets you order stuff from merchants.

qwertyasdwek
I might be able to do this, but you need to be WAY more specific on what you want to order and all that.
moistnuggests
I might be able to do this, but you need to be WAY more specific on what you want to order and all that. Something as simple as possible, I don't really know much about making mods or which are the easiest to make or run so this is more of a brainstorm. I only got the idea because I remembered a house mod from fallout had something similar, a computer where you ordered items and a trader that was under the bridge near (good god I can't even remember the name of the city anymore) the half sunken ship/lab. Here in skyrim if you did something similar; a ledger type item (a note or a book) inside shops or for a new merchant that the mod add, which opens an inventory which has general items that the merchant can have without a quantity (or with something very high).-a blacksmith's 'order book' would have arrows, ingots/ore, unenchanted weapons/armor of select materials.-an alchemist's 'order book' would have potions and ingredientsif you go the route of a new merchant and one 'order book' just combine everything into one Another way could be to add a dialog option trees to merchants that you want to order something, like with house stewards (wood/clay/stone) except with common items they usually have-item type (weapon/armor/crafting)<type (arrow/sword/light body armor/ingot/pelt)<material<quantity Yet another way could be to add something like an order form to the misc or book category of merchants inventory for common items. Or a scroll of "give merchant this item in that quantity" that can only be used after the merchant's inventory resets.-a note that when sold back to the merchant after their inventory resets gives the merchant the item in that quantity. Or by placing the note in a chest in the merchants shop will spawn the order in the chest after a few days.-or a scroll or a book that you buy from the merchant that lets you use it as a spell to add items to the merchants inventory after a certain number of daysFor example; "order note 50 rare ingredients" to be redeemed in 7 days. "scroll of order 200 common ingredients" to be used in 7 days. Or instead of 7 days it could be "when merchant receives new stock". These are probably not all that simple to make (just some ideas). A dwemer machine that has buttons on it that spawns the ordered items in a box after a week. Or give merchants a second inventory (from adialog option) with 100 of all their current items that you don't receive immediately but spawn in their regular inventory or a chest after their inventory resets. dmjtalas
he mean that you can ask them to get items not fond in skyrim but still obtainable if you have the dragonborn DLC, for example you can place an order with a blacksmith to get some netch leather from morrowind
dmjtalas
has no one ever made a mod like this before?I find it hard to believe
FishBiter
Wouldn't a simpler way to go about this be to modify the merchent's lists so they always have every possible item in stock? Effectively it would be the same as going through dialogue choices to request a specific item, except much simpler and faster with the same end result.
