Antioche
Okay, first off; I like the Elaborate eyes, and the mods Ren's beauty pack/etc makes to the game, the very fact that SO many other mods use bits and pieces of them is itself testament to their functionality and their worth. That being said. Once the list of mods I have running grew to sixty or so, I began seeing errors with many eye textures. Textures were being Tiled onto the mesh, rather than centered. ( A loss of centerpoint referrence I assume? ) I'm no modder, I don't know what is causing it; I DO know that it seemed to be tied ( forums topic-wise ) to Rens and Elaborate eyes ( Nequam ) I had the effect bulldozed to the point it was affecting no-one, but Arianna ( Montana's sexy Companion ) and, since I have the demoness Succubi loaded, she is summoned SO rarely, it mattered little. Toying with removing beautiful people, and Elaborate eyes, I have the problem on all vanilla races now. Any race I have added on, (there are many) has eye texture intact. but all basic races, including those in MoDem's city life, have eye-problems now. There are several 'fixes' for mods out there to make them compatible with Beautiful people, ( Modems' etc ) I have tried reversing the course those fixes took, but have had no luck returning 'normal' eyes to my races. What file is being ignored now? Did a setting in my Archive Invalidate ( in mod manager ) need to be toggled ? or does it need to be toggled and an update done? Any ideas would be great. I'm pretty close to just putting things back as they were, but Elaborate eyes and beautiful people ( beauty pack?) seem to be causing more conflicts than they are adding functionality to my game. Guess i'm pretty close to a reload of my game! LoL Thanks as always guys; ~A (Addendum) ~ So, six hours later, multiple unloads and reloads of ren's beauty pack, Elaborate eyes, and "All eyes and hair" ...and now Montanta's companion has her eyes correct, modems' city life's kids are correct... Ahata Dremora seem 'stuck' with the default non cat slit 'oblivion vein' eye of the Dremora....and the Wolf elves and Ice elves I had loaded on have 'google eye' no amount of loading or reloading or mod-re-ordering seems to fix the ice/wolf elves, and I am hoping the Ahtata Dremora 'single choice' won't presist with a 'showracemenu' command enabled once I leave the sewers... *sigh* ANYone know what causes google-eye? SavageArtistry
ANYone know what causes google-eye? I keep saying there should be a sticky about this topic, but I'm just not inclined to write one worthy of sticking myself. Google-eye is caused by textures belonging to one mesh (for example Elaborate Eyes) being applied to a mesh they don't go with (default 'vanilla' eyes). Example of an eye texture for default 'vanilla' eyes.http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/bb261/SavageArtistry/screenshots/eye1.jpg Example of an eye texture for Elaborate Eyes (Ren's Eyes).http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/bb261/SavageArtistry/screenshots/eye2.jpg Do you see the difference in the mapping? One eye type is just not compatible with another without some editing in the CS to make one race use a particular type. You cannot switch out the meshes interchangeably. It just doesn't work. In addition to the above, (correct me if I'm wrong) I believe there's yet a third variation with the eyes laid out horizontally. I believe I've seen that in Idkrrr's races. There may be load-order solutions to fix some of your problems. Others will be able to help you with that more than me. My recommendation is to choose one type of eye and stick with it - and that means only installing races and cosmetic packs which don't use other eye types until you learn how to edit the races for compatibility yourself. Antioche
Wow, thank you SO much! I was assuming it was a different texture anchor, I didn't realize the textures were SO different; same anchor, different 'offset' to the entire thing I guess. I have in the past few days been 'toying' with the TES construction kit. I would think I could edit any character via an esp ( a non vanilla loaded race say ) and 'reforge' a compatibility? changing out the eye mesh would be the key in TES, forcong a call for Nequams rather than a vanilla....or would it be better to force vanilla textures? on say Ice elves to key-put the problem? ( Load order has indeed overwritten several errors, I have everyone working except wolf elves and ice elves ( so, some custom races are still calling for an eye mesh that doesn't exist? or trying to use a texture that has been 'replaced' . )

If it is a vanilla race then ALL NPCs of that race will use that eye (causing problems possibly with vampire eyes). You can get around that by duplicating the vanilla race and assigning the eye meshes. That way it will only affect your PC. Again, eye effects (such as vampire eyes) which cause a change to the texture will cause the google eye to happen again. Additionally, even with this technique you may be able to have both eye types in the same cosmetic pack but you still can't use them or their textures at the same time on the same race unless you duplicate the race and give one copy one set of eyes, and the other copy the other set of eyes.
