Blazer6992
Over the past couple of months my Skyrim game has become so corrupted because of my downloading and removing mods, nothing is working right anymore. For the past couple of weeks all I've been doing is testing mods to see which ones I want and which ones I'm going to re-install. I'm going to start over from scratch. But I don't want any embedded files hanging around to screw up stuff in the future. I don't know if just deleting Skyrim, the NMM and Steam would be enough or not. Do I need to reformat my hard drive to make sure, or would that be enough? Or do I need to do other things too?
MKSaibot
This is what I did, 1. Deleted all my mods using the NMM2. Unsubscribed from all my mods on Steam3. Deleted Skyrim and reinstalled it. I also deleted and reinstalled NMM This is probably the newb way of doing it, but it gets the job done. TenderHooligan
Follow this guide: http://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Make_Skyrim_Vanilla_Again Doing so ensures that you've not only removed any mod related files, but also gets back any vanilla Skyrim files you might've overwritten or deleted. After reading all that it seems a lot easier to just uninstall everything a download it again.
Deleted800173User
I downloaded skyrimUI, which made me get SKSE. My Skyrim file used to take 2 mins to save, but after downloading those two things it now takes 3-5 seconds. I'm not sure how but it works a lot better now. Blazer6992
I wonder if there are any SKSE files I need to get rid of too.
TenderHooligan
Need? I doubt it. But it's pretty easy to do so just in case so long as you used a mod manager when installing SKSE's scripts.
Blazer6992
I don't think I did, but I don't remember how if it wasn't with the NMM. I can just uninstall it too I suppose. Edited August 15, 2013 by Blazer6992
Blazer6992
Now that I thought about it, do I even need the SKSE? I just ran over all my mods and don't see any that requires it. Is it something that I need in the background? I'm not sure what it does anyway.
