Download Timeout Error

I've been having some issues with certain downloads from this site timing out. I'm not sure if it is related to any mods in specific, or is more associated with large 100 megabyte plus downloads. Anyway, the file I've been attempting in vain to get is Francesco New Item Textures. A link to the files is here: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=17621 A direct link the the download in question is here: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/download.php?id=28044

A few other large files have given me problems, but I have not messed around with them extensively. It is mainly the above. If this is just due to the server consolidation that is going on I apologize for wasting your time. However, if it is not, I would love some advice. The issue started when I tried to download a few files at once at three in the morning a few days back. Maybe the server has locked out my IP or something along those lines for excessive downloading. I'm really not sure.

Anyway, thanks!

I am downloading "FraNewItemTextures" right now from the Seattle, USA server...will post the results when done.

EDIT:

The file downloaded completely and the archive is 100% intact.

The files contained inside the archive are:

Fra - NewItems2.bsa

Fra.esp

Hmm, so the problem is not with the servers. I wonder what has changed on my end. The downloads worked fine just a few days ago. Any suggestions?

Edit: After getting a more in depth download manager it seems that the download rate begins to slow randomly. Once it hits zero the download stops and does not restart. I don't know if this helps at all.

Possibilities:

  • Hard drive space - Check to make sure you are not running out of room on your hard drive. You might tell the file to save to E:\Downloads but if your TEMP variable points to C: drive, it will go there first and then E: drive, thus requiring both drives to have at least that amount of space available when downloading.
  • Bad modem - Have your ISP do some diagnostics or simply replace it.
  • Bad network card - Run diagnostics on it and replace if necessary.
  • Infected Operating System - Scan with current Anti-virus software and anti-malware programs like Malwarebytes
  • Broken download manager - Uninstall any download managers you have (I do not really like any of them as none have proven to actually speed anything up although they can provide for resumable downloads if the site you are downloading from also provides that option).
