StayFrosty05
A question out of curiosity....At what level do you like to start a new game and why? I have played so much Skyrim, leveling up bores me to tears and I no longer enjoy it. What I do enjoy is beginning a new game with a leveled up Dovahkin and so thus I use a 'Cheaters Chest' Mod located in Riverwood....I don't level him out to 81 or such, I level up only what he uses....he ends up about level 51-53. I also enjoy having a Dovahkin who is not new to conflict, an already seasoned Warrior caught up in the Imperial Ambush net by sheer bad luck....wrong place, wrong time....My Dovahkin is also aged in his early 30's and as such has life experience under his belt already, a leveled up Dovahkin makes more sense to me given his age and the dangers in the world his been wandering, than a newbie to such dangers at such an age....what about you, what do you prefer and why? Lord Garon
I have a few saves just out of Helgen for male/female and, I think, four different races. They're all lvl 1, but will level to 2 or 3 depending on the save. I like to start at scratch, especially for high difficulty games. The right perks early on can be critical to the "specialized" characters I run. I'm just the opposite; I like tweaking stuff and leveling is a fun part of the game for me. I take perks depending on what I've found, what follower I have with me, what my immediate goals are. I never really thought about starting a game at high levels, maybe I'll try it. I'm actually motivated to start some new characters. I have a "thing" about Steam (I will not send them money), but I will buy a Legendary Edition CD this weekend and finally get the DLC. It feels like a new Skyrim coming up and I want to plow through it with a lvl 1 noob again. Edited August 17, 2013 by Lord Garon
TheObstinateNoviceSmith
I basically always start at a higher level these days. Initially, I don't but once I've done it "right" at least once, I don't feel like doing that crap again. Leveling, is not fun for me but the story is so doing skills an unrealistic and monotonous number of times is not something I care to repeat these days. Besides, like it was pointed out, it makes no sense that my "Dragonborn" who is supposed to be powerful and has been a live for at least 20 or 30 years now has basically nothing starting out. What the crap has this lazy chump been doing all these years?

kleinstaff
why would you want to ' cheat' for higher starting levelsit is taking the fun out of the gameand that first dragon isn't really that hard (lvl 4 or 5) just don't go into melee with him when he still has most of his hp , let the guard wither him down first when i start a new play thru it is almost every time on a death is death idea but ussualy i get so fond of my character i keep playing after ward , my recors for DID is at the moment at level

Limited skill set, absolutely no enchanted items, absolutely no magic what so ever, no Healing Potions or Skills Buffers of any sort, Light Armor only, very rarely have Followers and have very difficult opponent Mods...it's all about tactics and strategy for me, is what I enjoy. I play Perma Death and hate losing a Dovahkin and so work hard and plan approaches to battle hard to keep him alive, his higher levels do not help him...just widens his skill abilities.... his Mod introduced opponents still make him look like a squishy push over. TheObstinateNoviceSmith
why would you want to ' cheat' for higher starting levelsit is taking the fun out of the game 1.) Because grinding isn't fun for me. 2.) Because I have other things to do but still wish to enjoy the game's quests, story, and roleplay aspects minus the tedious parts 3.) Same as number 1 but worded differently, because smithing an iron dagger 20 gazillions times isn't my idea of fun 4.) It doesn't make sense to me that my guy starts with the stats of a newborn despite being a 30 something year old person that possesses the soul of a dragon
ltknight88
I start low, and go slow. I never do "the grind " just to level up a skill. So no smithing extra iron daggers, and no conjuring up a bound sword while on the shore next to slaughter fish.I feel like that keeps it more fun and still keeps it balanced.
