Hi Im in a bit of a pinch here and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to solve my problem for which I have spent all day searching for an answer and havent found. I need to know how do you add a custom sound to the GECK? An example would be Im making a gun, and I want to add a new gunfire sound to it sadly though the GECK wont allow me to use custom sound files for it I put the sounds into a BSA still no success. Am I just really stupid, and Im just not seeing it. I really wnat to make guns that have better sunds than the bland old popping noises from Marksman Rifles, or Assault Carbines. Can someone explain to me how to add new custom sound effects to the list of usable sound for guns.

It really is as easy as navigating to where your sound is and selecting it.

A couple of things though:

Make sure it's in the correct folder. It should mirror the structure of how sounds are organized for vanilla weapons. So, in 'sounds\fx\wpn\[name of the weapon]\fire_2d, fire_3d, or fire_3d_dist*'

*Depending on which kind of sound you want to be using.

Also please make sure that the sound file itself is formatted in the same way as vanilla sounds with regards to compression, channels and bitrate. Audacity is a free sound-editing tool which can do this for you.

Otherwise the sound may not play in the GECK and gamebryo is extremely finicky when it comes to audio.

Thanks Im trying to add better, more realiatic sounds to guns like the Marksman Carbine, and Assault Carbine...especially since I used the Weapon Rename mods and it called the Assault Carbine an M4, I want it to sound like one too, and M4's tend to have more of a pop sound when fired than a super lound and annoying crackow like the vanilla sounds.
