Russia2012
I keep getting errors such as navmesh bounds missing or triangles not being properly linked.I noticed that when i allow the game to autogenerate a navmesh it will place navmeshes in places where i would not have navmeshed. I understand that when i am navmeshing that I can use TESV edit to undelete any edits i make to the game. If i were to delete the vanilla navmesh i could restore it by going into TESV Edit and undeleting it. Would it be a good idea to simply delete the vanilla navmesh do the navmeshing necessary to get the results i want from the game and the then go back and undelete the vanilla navmesh? Most of the navmeshing i intend to do is to make towers and things accessible to npcs and the vanilla navmesh tends to get in the way as i cant disable it. should I not connect my own navmesh to the vanilla navmesh? What would happen in game if i navmeshed an outside tower but did not connect it to the vanilla navmesh What happens to npcs if they were to come across multiple layers of navmesh in the same cell. would they simply use the best one that allows them to complete the action they are scripted to perform

DarkFox has some great navmesh tutorials and even if you have done navmesh before you could pick up something new. one of the tutorials talks about cutting navmesh when you are placing, say, a hut outside. Remember to finalize navmesh whenever you change or create new navmesh.. What that will also do is highlight a triangle by a load door which will allow npc's to use it. As far as what happens to npc's when they come across multiple layers of navmesh, they will most likely get confused. If I was use I would make a test mod and mess around with navmesh, placing items, cutting it, etc and see what happens. Then get rid of that mod (or continue to use for tests) and incorporate them into your mod. Lastly, find a favorite mod that has outside items like a lighthouse or new house or player house and look at what they did and how they solved their problems.
