ps4 gamescom 2013

oh no, dont get me wrong, im well aware of Sonys product life. i still have an original 80GB PS3, which has seen its share of use. it has nothing to do with me worrying that ill drop $600 only to spend more down the road or anything

its the fact its $600, and while being "only" $100 more then $500, its a huge chunk of change for me to lay down, and honestly, not one im sure id be comfortable with laying down for the purpose of gaming. i love gaming i do, but im slowly starting to realize that i cant blow my money however id like. im only 23 (will be in october anyways) and while i still live with my parents, i realize im going to need money eventually, so im sort of just trying to take notice of how i spend my money, and try to spend it more wisely. by trying to think to myself first "do i really need this" or at the very least "do i really need this right now" which goes along with "can i afford this right now or should i wait" as such, dropping $600 on a gameing platform, even vs dropping $500, would be a big decision for me. it would also cross my mind to simply by them seperately. id spend more in the long run, but the thought of "do i need a Vita right now" would be one to weigh on my mind. it might be crooked thinking, but spending $600+ at once is sometimes more then spending $700 over several months.

though i just realized my math was wrong. a $600 bundle would be the same as buying the separately. PSV is $200, not $250. so separately its $400+$200+$60, so the bundle you would only be saving $60, the Free Game. so my earlier rant may or may not be moot, as a $600 bundle wouldnt save you much more then just having to carry two boxes out of the store. this means that a $500 bundle may be more likely. though again, i would still have to think of the above, whether or not id rather spend $400 now on a PS4, and save the $200 further down the road, or if id wanna spend the $500 at once, save $100, but leave a bigger whole in my pocket.

in the end, it all comes down to the time. if i find that i have money saved up, and/or i dont have a lot of expenses in the foreseeable future (at the time) then dropping the money at once might be an easier option on my mind. if im having trouble saving money due to expenses, or see expenses coming up, then splitting the purchases up, even at the cost of spending slightly more, might actually be the smart choice. on top of this PS4/Vita there are still several things on my "Still Wanna Buy While I Have It Easy" list, such as a new Bed (i consider this almost a necessity, as opposed to the upcoming obvious non necessities), a new TV, building a PC for my mom, and upgrading my PC with a second GPU and a bigger SSD.

but anyways, enough of my wants/needs and personal economic views. sorry for the rant, its passed 2am here and im tired haha.

The psvita is going to be bundled with ps4, 500$ price point of the bundle marks the psvita down 100$.

Holy molly Borderlands 2 is coming to the psvita     , about time we had a decent shooter, full fledged shooter to the psvita  . Complete with dlc and all the goodies of online play :turned: :woot: .

This is getting better and better, this is the first time for a direct port from a complete shooter of this stature.

Definitely will be a psvita seller.

i may have to buy it a third time :teehee:

and the price of the psvita has been reduced to 200$

I keep telling you the psvita is more then capable of playing it, its about time. It may even play better on the handheld then the ps3 version, noting the constant lag glitches and so on that plagues it.

I wouldn't be surprised if it plays better than the PS3 version, considering the Vita isn't far from a PS3 in raw power, is far more efficient, and outputs at a lower resolution (but with higher pixels/cm). The fixed screen size should open the door to more effective LoD tricks as well.

I'm hoping for sun glare and shafts of light tricks as well, it ain't a trick just for directx 11, enb has been doing it for years.

The problem with sun shafts in DX9 is that it's a larger performance hit. The Vita is good, but probably not powerful enough to overcome that kind of inefficiency, at least not in most parts of the game world.

while this is very cool, i feel like it would be stupid to buy it again for the same console. the only way i would ever play it on my vita is if they gave me a code to get it since i already have it for PS3. buying it again for Vita when you already have it for PS3, would ruin the point. the Vita is supposed to be an extension of the PS3. im not sure if the PS3 has the capabilities to WiFi games over to PSV for remote play, but the least they can do is unlock it for PSV if you already have it.

They might do the cross game buy thing, if you already own the game like they did with Ratchet and clank assault. Terrible port that was.
