Eiade
Any class could hit 100 marskmanship and 100 agility with any time given, but there is no way you will ever find a Bosmer ranger, killing a Nord ranger. END. OF. STORY. If anyone, specifically a nord, could hit 100 in their marksman and agility, couldn't a bosmer hit 100 in long blade and strength? But we won't get in to that argument about how anyone could reach anything so nothing matters ever. That's pointless. I believe it is entirely possible for a bosmer ranger to kill a nord ranger. Bosmer has superior agility and nord has superior strength. The bosmer will win in the archery phase, and the nord, with a stroke of luck, might win the combat phase. Strength isn't everything. Peregrine
But we won't get in to that argument about how anyone could reach anything so nothing matters ever. That's pointless. Actually, lets do exactly that. Any race can reach high skill levels, therefore which race you pick doesn't matter very much. Especially since you don't need 100 in a skill to have it work nearly all the time. Once you're past the first few levels, race becomes irrelevant. End conclusion: pick the one you think looks best and stop worrying about it.
Crim, The Red Thunder
im probably only going to say one thing here, since im trying to do some other things (yes Eiade, im looking!), but here goes. Speed matters too! A nord with a high speed (*cough* 250 *cough-cough*) could easily win the combat phase without really needing to enter an archery phase. If you can charge straight up towards the archer you probably wont get hit but once, and you can stay right in there face smacking the crap out of them with your sword... then the archery kinda loses its touch. I speak from experience, since this was how i treated the archers on firemoth... and all the others i met anywhere until after having become (almost-become) leader of telvanni, and attempting the last dungeon (when i finally got a good crossbow...) but even if the archer trys to move away, you can keep your close distance using your superior speed! Yay for the boots of blinding speed!
Abramul
Like I said, I created a new Redguard char...did the Generate Class thingy, came up with Knight. My starting Long Blade skill was 60! (Actually, mighta been 40, think it was 60 though). They are indeed excellent at melee, and don't have any DISadvantage for magic use. Bretons, though, do make excellent mages, especially with Apprentice birthsign. Nords are good, too...almost always used a Frost Damage enchantment on my weapons when I was playing as a Nord. I don't like Wood Elf, though...too short.
