Aeros, The Realm of Storms

In the beginning, there were four great World-Gods.. Aeros, the lifegiver, and the world of mortals. Sorea, the Great Shadow, and hell to the living, and the holy. Nimbus, the light vortex, and isles of heaven. Finally, Norichar, world of flesh, and the dead.

These worlds, no, these titans among gods gave life to avatars of their power. Of Aeros, came Ambirca, the Priestess of Life, from Sorea, came Alagos, Serpent king of the Eyes, from Nimbus, birthed Ixion, the Thunder Rider, and from Norichar, Archaon the World Bearer was made.

These gods reigned over their domains peacefully, 'till the Thirteen came to being. The Thriteen came from a constellation far away, and were knights bound to conquer the dimension. They resembled the fears of all creatures minds, and were a great threat to the Circle.

Ambirca, sensing the danger, turned her brothers into beasts to hide among the stars, Ixion into a Felnicorn, and Alagos into an Amphithere, but it was too late for Archaon. He was destroyed by the Thirteen before he could be changed. Ambirca took the stars from the sky, and took Norichar to make them into threads to stitch Archaon back together as a gargantuan manta-ray, but she destroyed herself in the process, turning into a star that shone brightly over Sorea to guide all the souls that sinned. Archaon then devoured the Thirteen, scattering their remains over the oceans of Aeros, and the Thirteen were finished...

The peace didn't last at all...

In the city of Khorikan, a major focal point for the god's energies in the Alagoi culture, the citizens were gathered around in their ceremonial garb, and a priest, dressed in multi-colored bonegrass skirts, skulls from the local Felhounds, and feathers from the great Lagg, stood in front of the crowds, the great Sacrificial Pyramid loomed behind him... The firelight shining off of his dark skin.

"Today! We appease the gods with a moonlit sacrifice! Alagos shall be pleased with the Ixionian scum that we have caught, and we will be assured a shadowed rest in Sorea!!"

The crowd went into a great uproar, and the priest pulled out his hunting knife. He slinked over to the top of the Sacrificial Pyramid behind him, where the captives were tied to stakes.

The prisoners were tied quite tightly, and none of them had their gear. Only one was truely an Ixionian, yet he was still knocked out from poison, the other two, not so much, but the priest wouldn't tell the difference...

"Begin the ceremonial music!" The priest shouted, and he advanced to the stakes...

Cruor begins to wiggle about, attempting to free the bonds from his wrists with a technique he had perfected from many a prison break so he could at least do something. "Ugh, just... a little... further...." he whispers silently to himself. Finally he manages to free himself, but decides to not get up and run. He waits for the right moment to strike.

The priest decides to choose Cruor as the first sacrificial victim. Cruor thinks to himself, "That was the worst decision possible...."

When the priest is upon the assassin appearing to be bound to the stake, the assassin, with lighting fast skill and precision launches from his position and disarms the priest, taking him by complete surprise. He proceeds to slit the throat of the priest, saying "Who's the sacrifice now?"

Cruor quickly frees the other two while the onlookers are in sheer shock from what just happened. The escape has but just begun...

[Let's throw in a link so we know what this assassin looks like, shall we?]

Then, as the crowd begins to scream and shout, all of them pulling out blowguns, and spears, the loud noises of their shouts wakes up the Ixionian who is still tied to the post. "What in the name of Nimbus is going on here?!?" He shouts, trying to get the blindfold off of him without using his hands.

The crowd charges after Cruor, lusting for his blood after killing their conduit to the gods.

Then the Ixionian finally gets the blindfold off, and reaches down to his leather pants. He pulls out a 7 of Diamonds, and pushes the small red diamond on the top.

The card bursts aflame, and burns the ropes that bound him to the stake. As he stood up, a large Alagoi man swung a spear at his head, but he ducked and quickly kicked the man down the steps, dispersing the crowd as he tumbled downward.

Then, the Ixionian went over to the Deerskin bag next to the stone altar of the pyramid, and grabbed his belongings. He pulled out a Steambow, a quiver of arrows, some shaving blades, and the rest of his cards.

He readied the bow, and stood next to Cruor.

"How are we going to deal with all of these savages?" He said to Cruor, flicking the switch on his bow that activated the boiler.

OOC: I don't really have a way to make my character in oblivion.. Especially not in a cool pose like that.. D:

"Well, I do believe we're better at escaping, and it seems that the other guy on the stake must have passed out from trauma. You split left, I'll take right. They'll have to split to chase us, and with that, we can plan our next move."

Cruor dashes to the pair of columns where his gear is stowed. He quickly picks it up, dons it, and notices that the two columns are close enough together to give him an escape route. Jumping from column to column, he quickly makes it up to the top where only the archers can hit him.

"This is just the way I like it" Cruor thinks to himself.

Flipping off of the column, he plunges his blades through two of the savages below. Quickly withdrawing them from the skulls of the fallen, he easily dispatches the pathetic, defenseless group surrounding him.

"Man, glad they didn't have shields...."

The Ixionian leaps up into the air, drawing out the rest of his deck of cards, and chanting a strange language. The cards in his hand form into a long slender blade, and as he lands, he goes into a flurry of rapid attacks. Each strike causes a card to explode, knocking the poor victim back nearly 10 feet, and the Ixionian manages to take out about 19 or so of the savage horde.

When his blade ran out, he pulled out the Steambow, and started rapidly firing arrows at the Alagoi around him. As he shot the final arrow, with the crowd dead, he flicked the switch on his bow. The machine vibrated, then exhausted a large amount of steam, and the Ixionian loaded another clip of arrows into it.

The crowd of Alagoi was dead, but somehow, one managed to slip away, and give warning that the prisoners escaped, and another, larger crowd was stampedeing up the steps.

"Oh by the skies, another wave?!?" The Ixionian shouted, and began to back up to the altar.

But.. as the crowd advanced, several people in the back screamed, and blood gushed over their heads.

The sky turned from night black, to orange, and a duststorm flew up the steps.. The ground began to dissolve, pieces of the stone peeling off like dead skin, and vines of barbed-wire started to creep and wrap around everything. Large objects fell from the heavens, and where each landed, a crater of blood and flesh was left! The entire view looked like Hell.

An Alagoi guard on one of the towers in the distance shouted, "THE VALKAR ARE HERE!" before his screams were garbled by the arrival of blood.

The crowd started to run off, many jumping off of the pyramid, hoping to meet a better fate. As they dispersed, thousands of blonde-haired people wielding cleavers, and wearing the skin of their victims were rushing up the steps.

The Ixionian started to panic. "No.. Not the Valkar, not the flesh worshippers!" he spoke. He pulled out a shaving blade, and held it at his own throat...

OOC: Sorry, somehow I missed the update email.

"Uh. Yeah, Valkar. I'm not sure about you, but I don't feel like sticking around and seeing what they want with us."

At that, Cruor takes off, leaping from pillar to pillar before landing softly on the ground, and taking off into the treeline while seeming to disappear. A voice is heard in the distance "I'll meet you at the next town to the north!!"

As Cruor runs off into the treeline behind the pyramid, the Ixionian drops the shaving blade, and runs off to the side of the pyramid. A crowd of heavily armored Valkar running after Cruor, went and leaped off into the underbrush behind the structure. The large group of Valkar advancing up the pyramid after the Ixionian was still moving. Just then, one of the large objects falling from the sky crashed into the pyramid, exploding in flesh and blood, and sending columns and idols toppling down it. Several of the Valkar get crushed by the stones, and the Ixionian takes the moment to jump down the side of the pyramid, sliding down the sleek stone walls. He lands on his feet, then runs off into the jungle, dodging the vines of barbed wire slowly creeping into it. As he was running, he looked back, and saw an eerie green light coming from the now orange sky, descending into the town square. He said to himself under his breath, "I guess this is the beginning of the end then.."

Cruor looks behind him, noticing the Valkar following. 'Dang, these guys are fast. I guess it's time to pull a fast one on them' Cruor thinks to himself. Continuing running forward, he finds an area where he can do what he had perfected: Blending into his surroundings. Cruor seems to disappear right in front of the Valkar, who are dumbfounded at what just happened. Cruor slows his breathing and movements as to remain undetected by his pursuers, while continuing north to the nearest town.

OOC> I've gotta take off for the night, need to get up early.

The Valkar were following Cruor through the jungle, until he suddenly disappeared. The leader of the mob, dressed in skulls, his right hand wrapped in barbed wire, took notice of it. "Arrgh!" He growled, "What witchery is this?!? The Thirteen shall not tolerate survivors!"

"You two!" He barked, pointing towards two of his men, "Go get the acolytes, and tell them to create some Fleshbeasts! We cannot let them get away!"

The two that he pointed to kneeled before him, and kissed his boots, then rushed off back to the city. Then, the leader forced the Valkar horde onward, each step they took, the earth peeled away like dead skin..

OOC> K, cya on the morrow.
