  1. You're in a ship, but it's not controlled as any other simulator is. You don't have active control of it. You click, and it goes where you click. It's not a typical space simulator. Yes. You command a ship. It has RTS style controls though. And I don't know how you're getting $19 per month, as I'm billed only $15. And sure. Diablo was free online play. Did those servers host close to 75,000 people (max I've seen peak), on a single server at one time? You pay for every expansion for Diablo, too. Whereas EVE gives you them for free. To each their own, though. The game hasn't survived, and prospered, for close to six years for some small feat alone.
  2. Banning mono for not stating the fact you must also make it appear as if you weren't there by indeed not posting in places you would, and normally feel compelled to. (Besides. It's more fun to shoot people with paintball and airsoft guns)
  3. Banning Azir for not realizing the art of lurking, and the skill required to do it effectively.
  4. Banning mono for not realizing I lurk. (Been off doing more amusing things IRL)
  5. Ban Azir for having the caffeine tolerance of a small child.
  6. Banning wasder because his comments on lack of sleep have more grounds on which to ban than any others thus far. Take a caffeine pill, man!!
  7. Banning Marcus for he knows not strength with which I wield this almighty banhammer.
  8. Banning Marcus because I got a new banhammer that needs to be broken in.
  9. As was previously stated. EVE is not a space sim. And you aren't paying the money for the game. You're paying for server upkeep on a game that has about 50,000 people logged in at the same time. If you want a single player game, sure. You can get one without paying monthly. Good luck finding a decent MMO (MASSIVE multiplayer online) that's free and has the support of one you subscribe to.
  10. That's pretty creative of you.
  11. Rofl. Tiber? You okay there? Something that's fun is professional-grade airsoft :D. I went to a mil-sim game last weekend with some friends, and there was an active duty Air Force member there. Nothing compares to sniping somone from 100 yards with a pellet rifle that's active duty.... (His AK couldn't hit me at that range.)
  12. All hail the notebook paper! The greatest thing on which to draw!
  13. Oh. And I saw Brokencyde and Amber Pacific live on the 9th
  14. Haha. Looks like yet another I can get along with.
  15. Name: (Go figure) PureSnipe Corp: Volition Cult (VOLT) SP: Little over 1 million. Started under a month ago Active: Log on at least once a day usually, depending on what's up IRL
  16. You have 2 free neural remaps at character creation, so they only made it easier.
  17. @Tiber I didn't bother asking. The fact he's a member of our military is all that matters to me.
  18. I've volunteered there quite a bit. Only problem was that it was an hour commute, both ways. It's a lot more practical, and more fun for me, to work and the National Guard base near my house. They're understaffed lately and can use all the help they can get in maintaining equipment. I like working on the Humvees they get coming through there that are about to be repainted and shipped overseas. Love working on mechanical things, especially vehicles. I just eventually run out of money to do things to my Jeep. I do a little more than the usual volunteering though. If I see a soldier anywhere who's buying something, I usually pay for it for him/her. Yesterday, I saw a Marine who lost his leg due to an IED sitting in a broken-down car on the side of the highway. I gave him a ride back to his house, and then without telling him I planned to do this, went back, bought the part to fix the car, fixed it and towed it back to his driveway. No amount of volunteering up to seeing the look in someone's eyes when you go massively out of your way to help.
  19. This is completely off topic from what you originally posted, but I feel compelled to share it with you. I know how it feels to lose a friend. I've lost three, all within the same year, and I feel I could have prevented one, possibly two, if only I had done things a bit differently. One friend was lost due to heart failure. I was standing beside her when the monitor flatlined. One was lost due to drowning. I watched it happen. I couldn't reach him in time to pull him out. Another was lost due to a car wreck. He went around a blind corner, and a car lost control on the wet roads and caused a head-on collision. The other car was speeding too, 75 in a 55. I should have insisted he didn't leave that night. That he should have waited till morning when the weather was better. I can say I can relate perfectly. Not the same events, but very similar and just as scarring. The military has my thoughts, prayers, support, and anything else they may need from me. As the bumper sticker on my Jeep says "1000 war protesters aren't worth the spit from one member of our military"
  20. Oh, I've got a few more... creative... ways of dealing with people and things that become a problem. I try not to get too connected to music, if something mirrors my life, I acknowledge it. I attempt to not dwell on it, as it tends to aggravate the problem even more.
  21. Chiron - All that Remains: Have not the strongest And closest ties been bound so long I've called upon them They remind me where I'm from With deep conviction I am connected cross the miles With out them nothing worth relying on It's been so long since I could say I've needed anything stronger We can't be wrong when we have ties that bind us If I rely and I know the strength In those who taught me of the Power in the ties that bind When I turn inward And look for strength within my self And demonstrations of courage Are the result If inspiration is wholly shared Then more is the gain Then I will follow The selfless actions displayed We are made powerful Not Alone - All that Remains: No more No more are the days that I will Fear for I have found a strength that None can match and I'll push forward Never has the blood in my veins Flowed so fiercely as when I feel this around me I am whole I'm not alone With the touch of your hand I am whole again I'm not alone With the touch of your hand I am whole again Now I feel the passion burning This what drives me further strengthens My resolve to push me further I'm not alone With the touch of your hand I am whole again I'm not alone With the touch of your hand I am whole again Give me hot steel GO! No more are the days that I will Fear for I have found a strength that None can match and I'll push further Now I feel the passion burning This what drives me further Strengthens my resolve to push me further I'm not alone With the touch of your hand I am whole again I'm not alone With the touch of your hand I am whole again
  22. I'll vouch for you on that. I've got quite a few friends that have come back from the military, and they're the most dependable, trustworthy people you'll ever meet. There's only a few things I can think of in the civvy world that match the feeling of accomplishment on the battlefield, and they are along the exact same lines as military service. And you forgot to mention the other thing you'll experience: pain, both physical and emotional, resulting from the injuries and deaths of fellow soldiers. (This one I know all too well. I had three of my best friends die right before me, all on separate occasions and days)
  23. Banning mono for having an avatar and sig of the same character
  24. Ban jaosals for being overly technical, and because I'm the one that does that
