Zephyr2011
My sentiments exactly Hammonds. This whole Canadian-US merge thing? Not gonna happen unless there's a war, I gaurantee it. If anyone's played Supreme Ruler 2020 though, THAT is a serious possibility (they even predicted the withdrawel dates from Iraq BEFORE Obama issued a timetable 0_o) they'd probably agree that if the economy takes a further nose dive here in America as in Supreme Ruler 2020, OPEC will likely change standard currency to the Euro then America will be in an even bigger hole and probably attack Canada for it's oil, maybe mexico too, i dunno. Other than that, I really don't see a possiblity for Canada and the U.S. to become a single nation.

The us and canada will always 'appear' to be 'separate nations' on the surface. That will never change. However, under the hood, they are already pretty much one in the same. This thread is not predicting that they 'will become a single nation'. Its that they 'already have become a single nation' in every respect other than an official announcement, and an update to world maps.
Vagrant0
being aware and examining trends to draw conclusions is one thing, but taking action... thats totally different, and outside of my interests. Sitting back being lazy and postulating is much safer lol :)And that is exactly what anyone wanting to take away the freedoms our forefathers have fought and died for so hard wants to hear from you. Everyone has a decision to make: Are you a sheep or a sheep dog? (a question to answer for yourself) America was once full of sheep dogs but it appears that the species is growing too thin to protect the amount of sheep that exist today.I prefer to think of it as a "new boss is the same as the old boss" kind of situation, atleast in regards to what is being said here. It doesn't matter what you call it, partisan politics and special interests will always remain in control of country which is as developed as US, Canada, and most of Western Europe. The problem is not that there is a lack of sheep dogs, but that there are too many sheep in wolves clothing running around, exciting the flock over every little idea that could maybe, possibly, have some shred of credibility. These false alarms make it harder for most people to be able to differentiate between the nut-job conspiracies and the real things which are happening behind the scenes. Bush would not have been able to suspend the constitution as he did if people weren't busy protesting a war instead of seeking to just remove him from power, or going on and on about the evils of GE foods, oil companies, stem cells, separation of church and state, or countless other things which really aren't as severe as they claim, and aren't as all encompassing as just what the bill of rights protects. Not that some of these concerns may not have some validity, but the more you lull a population into just ignoring anyone that can be identified as an activist, the less likely that people will be able to see real threats before it is too late. Frankly, on the whole "Canada and USA are already one" argument, I really don't care. I'm not Canadian so the effects of any kind of behind the scenes merger don't really impact me. I seriously doubt such a thing exists at this time, but I'm sure it would be of more interest to those in Canada than those in the US since Canadians stand to lose the most in the process. exanimis
This all sounds like the North American Union conspiracy theory to me. The next thing you know, you'll be posting ridiculous links to imaginary groups like the SPP. You will be trying to convince people that there is some type of international money coming into these countries similar to the euro, I don't know, maybe an . Just because it was pushed by George W. Bush and new President Barack Hussein Obama has mentioned that he will continue fighting for the North American Union is no reason to believe it is anything more than conspiracy. America will never invade Canada or Mexico! Why should we? It's not like there is anything like a New World Order on the horizon. Next you'll be saying that the government in the US owns 80% of AIG, That no one can find any information as to who exactly owns the Federal Reserve, That the results of the Governments investigation into the Kennedy assassination were locked for 100 years. or that US Presidents are puppets used to put a face out in front of those who really run the country. Thor.
I agree with exanimis, this sounds like the North American Union conspiracy theory to me aswell Im just throwing in my 2cents lol I don't think Canada is one with the USA, just that we have close relations with te usa. Also are laws and culture is in (some ways) very different here in Canada, under the hood we are very different to, especially when it comes to Politics. I doubt we would ever go to war with the usa because we aren't the that type of people, we sort of have that we have done nothing wrong attitude. The only reason why we are in that Iraq war is, is we were sort of pressured into it by the US. To many complaints, that sort of thing. Thats just my opinion.
