furnaps
* I just typed this all out once and the forums gave me an error when I submitted it so now I have to type it all over again so I will make it shorter this time I sadly have never played Morrowind or Oblivion , but I bought skyrim when It came out & played about 200 hours of it but never finished it due to various reasons. I am planning to go back and play through skyrim all the way this time and also got all the dlc for it now. BUT.... I really want to know more about the Elder Scrolls story and lore so when I play through skyrim I actually know what is going on. I love the story and lore behind rpg's its one of the main reasons I play them but having never played the previous Elder scrolls games before skyrim I have no idea what that lore is.. So I got Oblivion plus all the DLC and I want to play it before going back to Skyrim. I am really into mods and Oblivion's visuals are outdated nowadays so I want to Use The best of the best Visual mods there are for Oblivion.. Thing is since I never followed oblivions modding scene I don't know what those mods are other then just looking at the top files on nexus and guessing. I want to making Oblivion look The absolute best it possibly can no matter how many mods I need to install.(As long as they are true to lore and fit into the game) I've seen a few youtube vidoes of heavily modded Oblivion and I was shocked that some of them looked a good bit better then skyrim, but they didn't mention what mods they used. There are recommended modlists out there but the ones I found are outdated and I'm sure that nowadays you can make Oblivion look amazing after seeing those videos.. I know how to install the mods and already have obmm & boss I just need to know what the Best mods out now are for making oblivion look amazing.. Whether its Textures, ENB's, Meshs, character models, etc, etc... Im not worried about performance if my pc can't handle it then I will figure that out later I want to know the absolute best I can make the game look for my frist playthrough of oblivion ever.. So Far the only mod I have installed is Qarl's III Textures. Thanks! Edited August 24, 2013 by furnaps
billyro
You'll probably want to start at Natural Environments/All Natural, which change the way the whole game looks. After that, you will probably want some texture packs like Qarls (I don't use it personally) and Lush and Gaudy Floriana Gloria (but I use this). After that, you could try an ENB or OBGE along with its effects. I can't get either of them to work properly so it's up to you how far you should persist until it works. Anything else, you'll just have to search around. :)

furnaps
One of the main things Im having trouble with is the Character models and textures.. Anyone know of any good mods to Give the characters some better models and higher res textures and also armor textures for them.. The envorment stuff is alittle easier to find it seems and the vanilla characters I think will stick out badly with all the environment mods if I don't change them. billyro
Oblivion Character Overhaul - definitely. This mod is a MUST. You'll see when you look at it. :) As for body models, I'd go with HGEC and Robert's Male, as they are the most popular.
