ThePhoenixx
I need to know the basics like how to make new weapons, creatures ect? And how to make a map???? I know what i want the map to look like but how do i go about this? Do i make this seperate from morrowind or not? I think i should make it a seperate mod, but still be able to swim back to morrowind or something. So how do i make a map?? Like to the left of morrowind or something......? What im trying to do is make a Inuyasha mod, so first im trying to make a Tetsiga, its a gaint fang like sword, and a rough demon enemy like the generic snake looking one that you always see flying then gets killed. I know these are basic questions im new :stupid:
Malchik
Are you asking to recruit a team? No! So why post in team recruitment? I will move this to questions on the construction set. Have you read any of the tutorials yet? If you haven't that will be the first thing to do. Then come back with what they don't help you with. If you have already read them let us know. _it_
you need 3ds max 4 or 5 with the .nif plugin or the models and any program that can make and edit targa (.tga) for the skins u need nif texture to place the textures on the models

Peregrine
Somewhat right. NIF Texture is used if you want to re-skin an existing Morrowind model. If you're making your own, then yes, you do all the texturing in 3dsmax. And yes, you "can" use .bmp textures, but that's horribly inefficient. Oh, and there's an export plugin for 3dsmax 3 if you need it.

ThePhoenixx
Thanks for all the help so far, one of my friends had it at school and hes gonna give me it soon  , so now its on to actually making the models. So now i need to make a new island... I know you make it in wilderness and stuff, but is there anyway i can see where my wilderness is and shape it? Like you can see the map of morrowind is there anyway you can see your wildnerness map?
BlackSlayer
Well, you should really read some of the existing tutorials out there BEFORE asking about it here; you can also search for it. I will help you out here. I will make this super short and easy. 1.) Open the TES: CS and in the bottom-right window you should see a list of different places in Morowind.2.) Scroll down until you see the Cells named "wilderness"3.) Select one of them and double-click on the name.4.) Now in the render window, (the top-right window) you should see water and some land under it.5.) Click on the render window and then press the "H" key to bring up the Height Editing menu.*You should see a red circle wherever your cursor is.6.) To make islands and land you simply have to raise the land above the water.7.) Click and hold the right mouse button on the piece of land you want to raise.8.) Now move the mouse away from you (up on the screen) and the land should raise above the water eventually (The land will appear darker above water)* To rise up more or less land you can edit the "Edit Radius" size (From 5 - 30) About the map. Morrowind instantly generates the terrain map for you, so you will see your island on the map once you play. Unfortunately, you can not see an entire over-head view of all of Vanderfell, because the TES: CS loads the entire Morrowind world by Cells (or "pieces" of land) Therefore, it is impossible. Hope this helps, and good luck modding.
