dizietemblesssma
Has anyone tested the behaviour of Steam and GOG with their cloud saving of savegames when using Vortex profiles with their own save games - at least with Bethesda games like Skyrim, Fallout4 etc.? Having had to reinstall a whole bunch of games and mods just recently it never occurred to me that I had lost my saves too, I knew they were lost on the local disk but I just assumed that steam would put them back, without thinking through that the steam cloud might not save Skyrim gamesaves if they were in a subfolder. diziet
dizietemblesssma
After some examination of my 'My Games' folder after reinstall I see that my GOG bethesda games do in fact have the profile saves in their folders under the 'saves' directory, Morrowind also has this (was installed on d drive which was the one that failed). Steam games however only restored the files direclty in the 'Saves' folder but no sub folders, making for me at least, GOG games the better choice. Of course Skyrim isn't available on GOG:)Perhaps a note regarding profiles, saves and cloud backup should be made on the wiki? For those who might make unwarranted assumptions, like me:) diziet
