I think we should start a tradition for a wish list of mods for the new year. This could become a well of inspiration for modders out there!

Here is my 2022 wish list

QOK (Quality Of Killing) AKA Weapons

LMT L129A1 :: A modern workhorse for a designated marksman.

Beretta BM 59 :: A classic blend of American and Italian know how.

Beretta M1951 Pistol :: Underrated classic that saw action in the Middle East as the Helwan.

FN Hi-Power :: We are long overdue for a redo of this one.

QOL (Quality Of Living) Mods

Pause After Loading Screens (From Skyrim SSE)

Morning Fog (From Skyrim SSE) :: Please someone make this for Boston mornings!

That's it for me, what about anyone else wishlist?

QOL (Quality Of Living) Mods

Pause After Loading Screens (From Skyrim SSE)

Quickly threw this together as I'm just getting back into playing and modding FO4.

Not as seamless as the Skyrim mod and only triggers on savegame loading at the moment.

After a savegame has finished loading, a message box shows up. Just press ok / E key to start playing.

Is this the kind of thing you're looking for?

Not sure what the best way would be to trigger this also after cell loading screens or fast travel. The (script) Skyrim mod seems to hook into RegisterForMenu("Loading Menu") but does some additional checks before pausing the game. We have the equivalent (?) RegisterForMenuOpenCloseEvent("LoadingMenu") in FO4 which may work. Would need some testing.

The seamless pause / unpause seemed to cause some bugs with other game effects in Skyrim and needs to register for key presses which has to be done one key at a time, although the Skyrim mod seemed to just use a loop to blanket-register for everything... Did not work for controllers from the looks of it.

Event OnQuestInit()
	Log("OnQuestInit")
	RegisterForRemoteEvent(PlayerRef, "OnPlayerLoadGame")
	Debug.MessageBox("Your game has finished loading. Close this dialog to start playing.")
EndEvent

Event OnQuestShutdown()
	Log("OnQuestShutdown")
EndEvent

Event Actor.OnPlayerLoadGame(Actor akSender)
	Log("Actor.OnPlayerLoadGame: " + akSender)
	Debug.MessageBox("Your game has finished loading. Close this dialog to start playing.")
EndEvent
