data folder advice/help

So, my data folder contains bsa files for textures, meshes, etc. Mods come as normal folders. Will it work to extract the bsa files into folders then merge my mod folders with those as we did in oblivion? It crashed when I tried to have both normal and bsa folders for my main files and mods, respectively. I just wanted some input before I go messing with my folders. Thanks.

Now that I've unpacked the BSA files the start-up menu is white with different posters from the game that normally show during the loading screen. The mouse doesn't show and 2 power armor guys are in the background instead of 1. There is a missing file error message in the back. When I load my game everything is stuck in 1 animation, I am in the cross shaped animation with my arms and legs straight out. All the walls/ floors have messed up textures with various words every now and then.

Perhaps they're named wrong? their names are lower case, i.e. meshes, textures, trees, menu voices... Should they be named "Fallout - Meshes", "Fallout - Textures", etc.?

Please help

Hey Dude,

if you only want to install mods, it is not recommended to Change anything at the bsa-files. it simply works with "Archivinvalidation". That just tells the program to use the files you copied into the data-folder INSTEAD the stuff of the bsa`s.

You`ll find a short overview here

to get them work -> Archivinvalidation

before that, you should clear your data-folder to the default state
