Urfer420
Version: 1.4.16 | Game: Skryim SSE 1.6.342 | Current active mods: 470System: Windows 10 - 64bit, 32GB RAM, GTX1080 | Premium Member I have been working on my first modded setup for the last 4 weeks and finally began my first new playthrough last night.Completed 1 quest, made a new save, then exited the game & Vortex. Shut down my system and went to bed.Woke up this morning. Booted up my system. Vortex starts automatically with it. Received an error "No Vortex Uninstall Key". "The uninstall key for Vortex is missing or corrupted. This may lead to problems the next time Vortex gets updated. Please reinstall Vortex. No Vortex Uninstall Key". After 4 weeks of learning how to mod, getting the modlist finally setup and actually beginning my first playthrough, I'm not about to take the chance of reinstalling Vortex and losing my setup or having to completely redo it over again. Is there a way to fix this without losing my entire list? Either way I'm probably not taking the chance and will complete my playthrough. Then once I feel like I'm ready to start another playthrough I may attempt a reinstall (or just make the switch over to MO2 if I keep encountering these silly random issues). Solution AugustaCalidia Posted January 9, 2022 Solution Share Posted January 9, 2022 (edited) Not to worry. Reinstalling and/or updating Vortex does not affect your mod setup in any way, shape, or form. The Vortex app is installed to its own folder which is entirely separate from the folders for your downloads, installed mods, and metadata. I've been using Vortex for about four years now, and I've never lost a mod setup when reinstalling or updating Vortex. This issue has been addressed many times in this forum. If you want further information, you may want to do a forum search. Edited January 9, 2022 by AugustaCalidia
