Im finally back after a long break from the site, but I dont see an uber-weapon or armor enchanting post anywhere! Am I mistaken, or have the players who are sick of making everything in the game too easy leaving us? =\

Ahwell,... just got the finished product of the Valendell mod from Joel, and its killer. Ill be able to throw up a link once he has it out for public use. If anyone needs morrowind help, expansion or otherwise, feel free to add me to any messenger, although msn is messing up with its network recently...

Ok, so, you want to read about the helm, right? First, ill start by saying that it is not cheating, in any sense, and does not make the game obscenely easy, at least if used the way I chose to. After beating the game several times, and getting bored with elder scrolls, and the sever lack of difficulty in acquiring insanely good weaponry and armor early in the game, I finally started to try stuff out, that can be used by both Xbox and PC users alike. I started toying around with CE items, that not only gave it strengths, but drawbacks aswell. One example of which, a daedric tower shield that fortified physical defense, while paralyzing you, fittingly named "The Stone Wall". After that, the game became fun again, but still was simply too easy. Even with new, weaker characters, I still wouldnt stray too far off the map without picking up an ebony broadsword, or daedric katana... so, I decided to do in depth roleplaying. I made an Alchemist, although that got boring in the final stages, do to Alchemy guides. I then tried to be a bard, but the best thing about the class, is the telling tales, and singing songs, that you *cannot* actually DO in Morrowind.

After a while, I started running out of ideas. I was trying to think of something original, that not another person out there wouldve thought to do, when I found myself standing in front of creeper. Let me say right now, that I did NOT try to turn myself into a scamp, but rather a close relative,... the trader. I made a merchant, rather chubby, short, and imperial as ever. Although he began low class, and pathetically weak, he became an overall kingpin, with a knack for profit. The item that took him from scrawny, and weak, to an overall champion, wasnt even on the radar at the time, nor is it still today.

The item, now known ever-so fittingly as the 'helm of natural death', made up for the lack of power, and skill with weaponry, in such a fasion that made Morrowind almost seem like a completely new adventure. Although quite expensive to me, at the time, I used my previous knowledge of enchanting weapons and armor with drawbacks, and purchased an ebony closed helm. My reasoning was simple, as the ebony closed helm is the single most realistic, as well as demonic helmet in line with the idea. After making more money, and picking up a few key items, I used a Golden Saint's soul on the helm, and twisted a black, metal helmet, into a device to dominate any other merchant on the island...

The enchantment was simple, CE damage health, 2 points. And although it seems useless, the pure genius of the item is realized slightly further down the road. As you sell armor and weaponry to traders, they instantly wield them, so long as the item you sold them has a higher defense rating (when adjusted to thier attributes) than the piece they currently are wearing. So, the plan goes into action. The first target, the khajit in balmora that sells "daedric weaponry", although they are far from. I sold him the helm, not willing to pay the extreme prices for his false goods, and left the shop. Right now is when you might be thinking, if the helmet was such a great weapon, why did you sell it? Like I mentioned earlier, the merchant automatically equips the item if it is better than the one they are currently wearing. Considering most, if not all merchants do not take to wearing rare, or somewhat expensive armor, the helm went to work, the CE enchantment sapping the life out of the khajit. I walked back to the house I had "recieved" from an orge, the two story house, accross the river from the merchant's establishment, where I went to sleep with a smile on my face.

Eight hours later, I woke to quite a smug feeling, knowing I had just made quite a good "business transaction". I left my home, and headed accross the river to find my new weaponry, as well as my precious helm. As I stepped into the Khajit's house, I found him, lying on the floor, with the helm still on his head. The helm had killed him, slowly, and most painfully. As I left his store, with well over 13,000 gold in profit, the guards were clueless to who commited the murder... Who was I to clue them in?

After selling the items to the nearby armor dealer, I looked briefly at his cuirass, and knew I had to have it. I sold him the helm, and let it do its work yet again. I woke the next day, feeling energized again, knowing I had an added challenge. Retrieving my helm, and my new items, without the guard spotting me.

As hard as sneaking past the watchful eyes of a Dunmer guard is, an imperial trader doing it is almost unimaginable. I realized this all too soon, and made a decision on the fly, that made everything fall into place. I used a damage fatigue spell to knock out the guard, quickly retrieved my items, dropped them again, then paid my fines once he stood up moments later. I then picked my items off the ground, and strolled out of the stoor with yet another nice profit.

I continued making "transactions" until I had somewhere in the means of four million gold, which is not beyond the ability of anyone with the bloodmooon and tribunal expansions, but is not anything to laugh about either. Until the recent mods came out, the helm gave me the excitement and ideas to continue playing Morrowind, and without it, I would've quit months, if not a year ago.

I am not posting the story to brag, nor am I trying to say that my ideas are great, in any sense. I am posting this, if only to inspire you, as players, to think of new ideas to make the game more exciting, at least until Oblivion comes out ;)

sounds like u should just re-install the game and try again, a mod could have interfered with the game somehow heh or something like that, but Drake or someone else might know of something else to do besides re-insalling the game, so wait for more replies before u take my advice lol

are you offering technical help? Or gameplay help?

if it's gameplay too, then here's a question...

Where can i find Jocien Ancois? I cant find the hut with the rogue wisewoman...(The scholar who was teaching the erabenimsun camp, and was lured away by the rogue wise woman... It's an imperial legion quest...)

If you arent offering gameplay help, then some mod is free to delete this post.

You just have to follow the paper along the kind of path.

If you meet an argonian who has run away along the path, you are going the right way. The place has one hut, with 2 people outside guarding it. You have to do a bargain with her, or just kill her quick, to get Jocien Ancois.
