roquefort
http://www.moddb.com/mods/the-nameless-mod...n-now-available I'd give the direct link for the info & download, but it's hard to get the page to open right now: might be due to people downloading, or possibly not. This mod is also available on DVD. ;)
Maigrets
Wow!Dues Ex was one of my all time favourite games. I'm downloading this now. I don't know when I'll get to try it but the video was really good. Seven years of dedicated work - unbelievable!! Thanks for the info.. :thanks: This the link to the download page at the mods own sitehttp://thenamelessmod.com/downloads/ Pretty amazing for seven years work and free content. I'll have to dig out my old Dues Ex disc. I knew I kept it for a reason!!
Maigrets
I've downloaded the ISO * and burned it to DVD. If you get the ISO it has DVD box art, disc art and extra content about the making of etc, etc. Just don't have the screen resolution too high. I've got it at present at 1680x1050 which is the resolution I use for Fallout 3 and Oblivion. This is great and looks good on an old engine, but I can't read books and notes etc. The data cubes and book text boxes are too small and the text itself is minute. I'll have to compromise with the resolution or squint at the screen. Or get new glasses. :D Recognize this poster on the wall. There are all sorts of pop references like this. The voice acting is absolutely top notch. They have a hi Res texture pack in the works so that will be worth waiting for. ******Just wanted to make it clear before some overzealous personage reports the thread. The ISO being mentioned here is the download file which is related to this mod, and is packaged in ISO format so that it may be readily used without complication. This here is a valid and proper usage for ISO format files, and is not related to piracy as far as I can tell. - Vagrant0****** Edited December 24, 2009 by Vagrant0
roquefort
I'm planning to send off for the DVD, which is incredibly cheap even with postage. This is a complete makeover and definitely a collector's item. I've been watching the development over the last year or so, with the odd video teaser and occasional music files :) Of course it means I haven't played it yet, and have to watch those who have done so rave about it :D
Maigrets
I'm planning to send off for the DVD, which is incredibly cheap even with postage. This is a complete makeover and definitely a collector's item. I've been watching the development over the last year or so, with the odd video teaser and occasional music files :) Of course it means I haven't played it yet, and have to watch those who have done so rave about it :D I've played enough to get a few missions. I plan to have a decent go later this weekend, probably tomorrow. I'm so glad I kept my Dues Ex game. Even though it's dated now, it's still on my top 10 list. Just reading the Docs it looks to be even longer than the original game and that's saying something. I thought DX1 was never going to end and that's not saying it was boring. It had so many twists and turns and surprises. When you install TNM there's a PDF manual in the directory. They've even made improvements on the original game mechanics, including the inventory and weapons, which for the most part are new. Plus lots more! Without giving anything away, the plot is centered around forums and their members (this is on their website, so no spoiler), and in the short time I played I got some laughs from the dialogue and carefully placed easter eggs. Another thing that I probably won't use, but may be of interest to others is that when you find a certain computer terminal, you can log on to IRC in real time if you are connected to the internet. There are in game books which give you the log in details. If you need help or a clue chances are you can chat with someone who can set you right while you're in the game. This has got to be better than Dues Ex 2....that was OK, but a pitiful shadow of the first game. I didn't even finish it, come to think of it.
roquefort
Meant to ask, did you try any of the other mods? Redsun2020 is big, impressive and very eye-candyish, and also has a fair bit of humour distributed within it, and a very creepy shopping mall level. No voice-acting but lots of new dialogue. Maigrets
Meant to ask, did you try any of the other mods? Redsun2020 is big, impressive and very eye-candyish, and also has a fair bit of humour distributed within it, and a very creepy shopping mall level. No voice-acting but lots of new dialogue. I did have a few mods for DX, one I can't remember the name of right now. It was very good though. From memory it was about a huge hotel that had been infiltrated by Unatco, I think, and the object was to rescue hostages. Darn, I'm going to have to look it up. lol Found it...Hotel Carone! It wasn't very long, but very good and stealth was a high priority. I died a lot in that one. Zodiac was another one. It was a set of six single player missions. I think I have Redsun2020 on a disc somewhere. It's so long ago, but I'm pretty sure I played it. Is that the one where you start crouched in an air conditioning duct? I think I'll download it again and hopefully it will work with TNM installed because that is going to take ages to get through. I always thought Dues Ex had the best AI of any game of it's time besides Half Life. It gave me a few nervous moments and I still remember the robots... "Scanning area..." You knew you were in trouble then and if you ran out of pulse grenades... :pinch: The MJ12 troops were hard to take down and weren't easy to hide from either. And Greasels - getting stuck in a vent with a few of them was just like Half Life and the headcrabs. Where's a crowbar when you need it. :ninja: Most of the big mods were still in progress when I moved on to other games, but for nostalgia's sake I'm going to look them up. I haven't had time to get back to The Nameless Mod but I'm going to try again on the weekend. Speaking of Half Life...I played every single player mod that was ever made for that game. I didn't have internet in those days so Multi player was out of the question. HL2 was even better. I wonder if my Steam account is still active after all this time. I guess they give you the boot after a few years.
Povuholo
Bump for this awesome mod GAME. The final (1.04) patch is now available. Get it now! ;)
LHammonds
Interesting. The FAQ says it works in Windows 7. I'll have to see if I still have Deus Ex or if it was one of the chosen to take back to trade in for new games. ** searching ** ** pointless - office is too much of a disaster to find anything...really need to clean it out **
