I saw yesterday that she had been injured and was in critical condition. I've been dreading hearing this news.

This particular death really shook me when normally I wouldn't take much notice of this sort of news. She seemed like such a good person who was very important to those around her.

I am so sorry for Liam Neeson and their two sons, I wish they could have all grown old together.

Aye, it hit me more than I would have expected too. I think for all the obvious reasons, she was talented and beautiful, generous (worked with a lot of charities), was so young and the cause was just so stupid. She apparently was "fine" but for a headache for a few hours before slipping into unconsciousness. If only they had checked her out sooner. It is Heath Ledger all over again, young talent being taken in circumstances where they likely could have been saved.

At work I'm being bombarded with her image over and over too since amongst our great bank of monitors we have one tuned to the news. DirecTV dumped the newsmix channel we used to have so we're stuck with CNN who love to show the same things over and over ad nauseum.

Liam was just being shown meeting the crowd of fans paying their respects outside the hospital.

All we can hope is that her family gets through this the best they can, that ski instructors start mandating everyone wear a helmet even on the beginner slope and that perhaps she is in a better place.

Cheers.
