Sodarok
Hello, I already posted this in the technical discussion but I'm not sure if it fits there so I put it up here, too. I wanted to install three mods which unfortunately all use basic_scripts.dzip as base. When I install one,I can't get the benefits of the other two. Is it possible to combine these mods? I'm a complete newbieand I'm just about downloading REDkit so I hope you can explain it well. The three mods are: Dark Items for all Difficulty Levels: http://witcher2.nexu...com/mods/661//?Dark weapons without dark effect: http://witcher2.nexu...com/mods/649//?Fix Dice Poker and Armwrestling - Always win: http://witcher2.nexu...com/mods/646//? Thank you very much for your help!
nurmi90
I second this one, maybe with mutagen and/or skill gain options? and if there is more, why not. Because I'd like to play myself that hardest difficulty with more skill points and i'm sure someone would like to do the same with mutagens ..or even both. abspenst
Hi, use Gibbed's tool for opening and recompiling .dzip files (http://witcher2.nexusmods.com/mods/52/?). After unpacking both .dzip files you get two folders which you merge and pack again via REDtool. Put that .dzip back into CookedPC and you should be fine. verbal050382
hi, im actually doing this as well with two of those mods. when I go to merge the contents of the folders it asks if I want to overwrite or keep both files. ive done both and then repacked them with redtool and either way I get a script error upon loading the game or else only one of the mods works. what am I doing wrong? thx
verbal050382
ok I got it. after you unpack the two dzips go into the dice folder dzip, into games, then mini games. copy those 5 or 6 files then paste and overwrite them into the dark armor dzip unpack under the same place, games, minigames. then take that and pack it again and drop the file into the cooked pc folder. works grand Edited November 30, 2013 by verbal050382
xexyzchronos
So guys, I know this is an old foum, but I just started playing Witcher 2 again and I want to use three mods that modify the basescripts dzip file. I want to play on hardest difficulty with a new game. I hope to use these three mods. I have RedTools, and kinda think I understand how to use them. Mod 1Extra Talents Per Level (If it makes things to easy, I'll not use some points or uninstall and start over, figure that on the hardest setting, I should be ok, we will see)http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher2/mods/657/? Mod 2Dark Items for All difficulty levels (I don't want to dig up old saves on an old and jacked up hard drive and get these again...)http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher2/mods/661/? Mod 3Rise of the Sword (Haven't used it much yet, but it's already installed and I really like it so far, i install all my mods by myself, no NMM, as I always get better results for some reason, I guess I'm savvy when things aren't being dumbed down, but as soon as they are, I can't F#CK!N figure them out, guess that's why I'm in Epigenetics in grad school with straight A's, but couldn't do business school during my first college attempt, and dropped out...lol. I've dubbed this first summer off school in 4 years my experimental modding summer)http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher2/mods/672/? EDITAm I out of luck here guys, or is this possible still? I'm a NOOB when it comes to this stuff, but I'm savvy, and have had lots of success with Skyrim and Dark Souls 2 modding without NMM...both are modded to the teeth and work flawlessly for me as of now. I'm even starting to do some simple texture modding, and lots of adjusting of conffg and other .ini files, so I'm not a completely worthless moron NOOB, but an intelligent NOOB with at least a bit of know how. Any help would be greatly appreciated guys, I really just want to see if I can actually make these work, i'm not expecting a miracle, but I couldn't do it with NMM, and like I said, my problems with NMM have been fixed by uninstalling it and starting over from scratch on my modded games by doing the installs manually and playing with configs and stuff, and I have had much better results this way. But I'm at a loss with this one, I don't know if packing and repacking/merging has to go in a certain order based upon mod load order or what, like I said, no NMM this summer, I'm doing it myself which means I gotta figure this out. Thanks in advance guys, you rule as always. Edited June 3, 2014 by xexyzchronos
alathon
I've combined the mods you're talking about into a new one: http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher2/mods/689/? There is also a version with extra talents and one that keeps Dark Mode visual effects. I haven't tried Rise of the Sword myself so I don't know how difficult it would be to merge them together. I'm not a fan of FCR/FCR2 so I haven't tried to make it compatible with it either.
OzUnder
Will someone please help me...I want to use multiple mods but I am finding that some mods overwrite previous mods in the base_scripts_dzip file! I have no clue how to use Red Tools as no detail instructions are available....I mean I need step ny step example how to unpack, recompile (merge) and repack, and then where goes what in the CookedPC file...I am interetsed in Dice Poker and Arm-wrestling win fix, Increased max Diced Poker wager, Extra talents per level. These seem to overwrite each other! I either get to win always but limit of wager to 5, OR increase wager to 500 but hardly ever win! Has anyone combined these 3 already? If not, is their a detailed instruction how to use RED TOOL ??? Thank you!

But how can I combine if I find a new mod with base_scripts.dzip file?
Object279
I'm currently trying to combine "base_script.dzip" files of multiple mods. I figured out how to unpack the dzip with Gibb's RED Tools and I found out from verbal050382 that to combine the Always Win Dice Poker and Arm Wrestling mod with another mod, I just copy over the files from the "minigames" folder in the base_scripts over to the other mod's "minigames" folder. :dance:However, here's the problem: I'm trying to get the Level 70, Dark Items for All Difficulty Levels, Dice Poker and Arm Wrestle Fix, Enhanced Camera, Training Skills Since Level 1, and Sign Intensity Tweaks mods combined and I have no idea which files are alter in the base_script. I've modded a perfectly working Skyrim with 255 mods, but sadly I can't a few mods working together in TW2. Now I'm not asking for somebody to combine them for me (although that would be nice). I'm asking about methods of combining multiple mods and knowing what to alter or overwrite. This is something that's left unanswered in this thread (and other threads) for over two years now and I think it's about time somebody gives and answer or a guide on combining dzip files, specifically the "base_scripts.dzip". :whistling: Any help will be much appreciated!
